Correct me if I am wrong but I don't believe we have any members here that have bowkilled a 200 inch buck.. Will this be the year and if so.. Make your predictions on who has the best chance!
I'll take 2 lol. I would love to take a 200"+ natural no suppliments or anyrhing available to them. To me that would be a real record.
They are here, but I'm not going to hold my breathe on me shooting one. 3 years ago, they killed a 195" on one of the places I hunt, and last year my friend killed a 187" on the neighboring property.
If I decide to cough up the money for my friend to guide me out in western KS there may be a long shot. A very long shot. He's been showing me pictures of the deer they have around where he guides on public land and they are ridiculous there are 2 right now that he believes to be more than 200 and several in 180-200 and a ton of 160-180 range. To him though anything smaller than 170 is small. He hasn't killed less than a 170 in the last 5 years. and the last one that didn't hit that only didnt because of a broken tine. Its nuts to see his photo album. Just monster after monster after monster. All public land deer. He works for Wildlife and parks during the summer so he gets to find all the honey holes while hanging signs.
I know of one that could push it, and he's a public land buck, if he's still alive. By my best guess he would be a 7 year old this season, but I have not seen him on any velvet trips, so who knows.
Anything can happen at any given time. Thats why we put our time in. Last year I seen at least 4 deer over the 160" mark, one in the 190's. So I'm hopin theres room for improvement. First 150" deer that comes bye me is toast on film!
I have an OK chance up here in MA. I entered the raffle to hunt the Quabbin Reservoir. It's huge and there are some monsters in there. Less than 1/2 the people that apply get in. Then 1 in 4 of those guys take a deer. I imagine 2 of the 4 are bucks. It's only a 2 day hunt and you only get 1 day to scout. Damn, I was much more optimistic before I started typing stats. hahaha. Oh well, Good luck everyone!
I have some roaming around here in Southern Indiana , if i'm at the right place at the right time i could be a canidate
Same here. I have heard Davie county may have a couple hiding out there and I have seen a pic of one in a Carolina Sportsman Mag. He was massive. Davie county is about 3 miles from me but, I highly doubt I will ever see one of that caliber roaming around here. Not happening for us NC guys this season.
