OK, All of the forums that I post on seem to think this buck is in velvet. Here is the full set of him. What do you guys think?

A gentleman posted this link on another forum. Not sure if it pertains to this guy or not. But nonetheless very interesting.

Maybe, but if it is it could be a doe or a buck that lost his jewels.

Another vote for antlered doe or issues / lack of family jewels

Bucks can be in velvet now yes, but just nubs. That boy had an injury, the antlers aren't developed properly. Or liek mentioned, could be a doe...

Definitely in velvet, but not phrase "in velvet already." Rather, "it" is still in velvet. Neighbor shot a buck 2 years ago in WI gun season (Nov 20's) that was a solid 120 class 2 1/2 year old 8 point. It was still in full velvet and it was a buck. Typically this is a result of low testosterone levels. It's the same reason why a buck and a doe (with bone) may end up with velvet on its horns all year until they drop as the increased testosterone levels never trigger the deer to rub its bone.

In this instance I have to agree with others in that it looks like there may have been an injury with this buck.

I am guessing he just hasnt dropped them yet. Good pics, but can't tell for sure if it is velvet.

I'd say he injured his man jewels and will never recover.
