Have 25 acres me and my friend we will hunt on for the first time this year. I have baited near my stand and he has baited near his stand , quite a bit away from each other.
we have climber stands as well we may move to different areas from time to time.

Question.. is we bait the other spots as well is this bad. Will there be to many feeding spots for the property.

Is there any rule of thumb to how much you should feed and bait, etc?

    Thanks in advance

I think the reason one baits deer is to pattern them. So if you put more bait then that would eliminate pattering the deer. To many option for the deer. I might be wrong.

We had the same problem at my uncles property. 80 acres, 4 different blinds. Somedays we would see a lot of deer, other days we wouldn't. When we checked cameras, we found the other baited blinds we didn't sit that day had deer activity.

If you must bait, why not put bait in a centrally located area, all agree not to hunt over it, then hunt movement to and from. You wont be shooting deer off the bait, so the bait doesn't get burnt out, and the deer should be easier to pattern. Just an idea to try.

So you sayin bait one location and setup near the trails leading to the bait?

    This sounds good.

Should you always keep the bait in the same place? or is it good to move its location from time to time?

If they get used to the location why move it? Its all about making the deer feel safe so they're willing to move during daylight. The only time that might make you move would be to freshen the area, move it 20 yards so the deer aren't eating in there own feces. My dad loves to bait, ive talked him into this because he'd have bait at every one of his stands, now we centrally located it, its cheaper because you only have one bait, it keeps scent and human movement down because now hes not running all over baiting. And it gets deer up and moving earlier because there is less bait and if they're going to eat they need to get there before its gone.
