Is there a best way to find roosting locations, or just venture out, hillside, valley

Lower or higher granted I've seen both.

I typically just go out and listen. We don't hunt big tracks of land around here so there are either birds there or not. Usually by just going and sitting down to listen you'll hear some. If you are one a bigger tract cameras can tell you where birds are just before dark. Then you know they are roosting nearby.

Just scouting today, had a few talking late morning, but couldn't pull them up the hillside, will venture down in the hollers this evening to see if I can locate the herd.
    Also checking my cameras.

Well it's never how you draw it up!, Tango down opening day! If the birds are not around move! Lesson learned.
