I am looking for a new grunt tube, and was wondering if this one is as good as claimed. I like that it also does the snort-wheeze, and a few other calls. Also, the wrist strap seems like a convenient feature. What do you think?

also, i never used the strap thing. i'm more comfortable with a lanyard. for me at least, the last thing i need is to do something different right before i shoot, like blow on a deer call. i'm fine with "mackin" a deer at draw.

If you think it's gonna' work and like the features... purchase it.
However... don't think every time you blow it you'll have deer running into view, 'cuz it ain't gonna' happen.

Don't know anything about the Primos buck roar but the roar is my favorite calls as the rut is starting to kick in . I've heard bucks roar at other times of the season but I hear it the most as they are scent checking a doe so I usually add a few tending grunts to the end of my roar and have had good success with it .

Thanks for the input. I would mostly be using the grunt/tending grunt. Lots of pressure where I hunt, so deer are not real responsive to calls in my experience.

I have the UpRoar. I like it for the most part, easy to use and I've never had it freeze up on me. The various buck noises all seem right to me. I don't like the doe calls- nearly impossible to make a soft doe call. Either screams or just air comes out.
The wrist strap could use some work also. Needs to be bigger to fit around bulkier sleeves.

IMO NO. I did not like the sound good to me. It stunk to high heaven. For me nothing beats the Extinguisher by Illusion. I have 20+ calls in a box and only the Extinguisher goes in the woods with me.

To loud for my liking. But then again I feel most hunters are way to loud with whatever call they are using.

I agree that most hunters grunt to loud but when it comes to the roar , you can't get loud enough . When bucks roar it's extremely loud .

I'd say no, based solely on what I have seen looking at them in the package and the fact that I no longer use any deer calls. I can use my throat to grunt and mouth to snortwheeze if I feel it may be of use in the stand. In general, I gave up on calls a long time ago because it seemed to me that only in a specific time frame do they do any good and generally do more harm than good. I've seen too many bucks ignore calls completely or totally spook from them.

I've had two good experiences with grunt calls in the past but have seen more bucks ignore them or shy away than I've bagged because of them. To me the net loss outweighs the potential gains so I stopped carrying one. For one thing I'm always tempted to use the damn thing if I have it with me.

I have voice grunted at a few bucks that were already going away from me and pulled them in so I know I have that to fall back on if needed.

Snort wheeze worked very well for me with this call. Its pretty loud which is a good thing to me.
