I'm a Steeler fan, but I'm also a realist. The Steelers weren't a very good team. Thier record may have said one thing, but thier actions on the field said another. That said I think the Steelers were a better team than Denver, but yesterday they got out coached and Denver's players (both the recievers & Tebow) did enough to win. That's why they play the games, because anything can happen on any given game. Tebow is not that good. He made a coulpe nice throws, the others were to guys so open I could have completed the pass.
Its not blind homer man, Tebow is just a terrible NFL quarterback. Its a psychological thing. And you aren't seriously taking my A-rod/Brett Favre posting as serious all the time are you? Come on man you've been around too long for that... Dont drink the coolaid bro, dont drink it. Skip Bayless just gets more powerful as you do
This isnt a religious thread, its a football thread.
Tebow hit a few long passes, thus his 300 yards. It's also quite funny that everyone is like "Look! He threw for 300 yards! He is a great QB!!" like QBs aren't suppose to throw for 300 yards? Like this is something unusual? He also had less than 50% completions, again. And did you people not see some of those throws? Did y'all not see that last 3rd down throw in regulation? I swear some of y'all do not watch the game. Y'all are just too distracted unzipping your pants everytime Tebow runs for 3 yards. And the pass to end the game? That was all on the Steelers blown coverage and Demetrius Thomas destroying Ike Taylor. Was Tebow horrible? No, of course not. But to say Tebow had a "great game" is beyond idiotic.
You guys kill me .... Tebow played a great game .... he is a motivator ... he is hard to tackle ... he did what needed to be done to win ... some of you are so transparent ... the guy is a winner and please remember ..... HE IS A ROOKIE! Wake up haters ... his line is good, but he makes them look better than they are because of his ability to elude and shake off tacklers. ... on to NE .... a team with a bad defense .... should be interesting
All I want to know is if Vito is still going to let Tebow be his Vice Presidential running mate? Of course, last I checked a quarterback's job is to get the ball in the air to his receivers in order to give them a chance to catch and run with the ball down field. He did that... when it counted. He is pretty unconventional but has accomplished what; like 30 other QBs in the league, have not... advanced in the playoffs. I don't think it will happen again against the Pats but it was fun to watch. Except unless you are a Steelers fan.
I'm not a Broncos fan, or Tebow fan. But the team Tebow plays for beat the number one defense in the NFL yestarday and Tebow's play might of had something to do with it. In the end all that matters is who wins and the Broncos did.
It's funny watching the tebow fans now taking the "If your not with us, you are against us" attitude - not so much here but in general. There are so many people that want him to do well because of how good a person he is, he is getting more credit than he deserves. But then again we are not supposed to pay attention to stats when it comes to Tebow right? BTW that throw to win the game should be able to be made all day long by any NFL caliber QB
I laughed. Yes, I still plan to have Tebow as my presidential running mate. Timmy will pull the bible belt votes, and I'll have the support of warm miller lite drinkers. We are sure to win. Timmy played alright yesterday. He made some nice throws down field and didn't turn it over. In related news, Trent Dilfer has been elected into the Hall of Fame based on the Tebow Scale. Next week will be interesting. Who is more powerful? God... or the devil.
This is spot on! Sure he made a couple great throws, and just as many ****ty throws if not more...like the three 3rd down throws, well attempts that were pretty bad, bad with receivers wide open.....actually laughable! 8 yards in a quarter is NOT a great game.....just saying!
They won ... nuff said... I am not one who thinks he is the best out there ... not even close ... but he wins .. he plays with all he's got .... he is a good guy ... why bash him? I don't get it .... you all bring the Christianity thing up ... is that it?
Not bashing. Just stating that he did not have a "great game". I don't care about his religionious beliefs. Kurt Warner was a very Christian guy, and quite out-spoken about it and nobody cared. And Warner was actually a really good QB. Yet I don't ever remember him receiving this much attention. Tony, if he was not so open about his beliefs, would you support him as much?
Yeah, Bro ... I would .... you have to remember that I am a Buffalo Bills fan .... I heard all sorts of crap about Kelly whebln he first came here ... now I don't think Tebow is a Kelly, but he is winning .... and you are right, Warner is outspoken as is Breeze ... and I surely root for those guys a little more cuz of that .... what confuses me is that Tebow is winning .... I have no idea if it will continue .... I didn't think they stood a chance yesterday .... and the God thing .... there are just as many guys praying on every team ... I don't think God is winning these games ..... I think it is one hell of a competitor contributing to Denver's success
I didn't watch the whole game, as I was hunting, but how many of those 316 were YAC? And his 3rd down pass towards the end of regulation, that someone mentioned earlier, even a blind midget could have made that pass. That was ugly.
Tony, I'm not bashing Tebow either, and as a Christian I'll embrace him for that. Again, this was the first game I ever watched Tebow in and regardless if the Bronc's won or lost, it wasn't a "great" performance. It was however, good enough to win and again, credit where credit due, Demetrius Thomas in my opinion should have been the MVP, not Tebow if it was given out. 8 total yards in the first quarter, less than 50% pass completions, only 5 total in the first half, held to 3 points the entire second half... that doesn't say much to me about an awesome quarterback... he had a fantastic 2nd quarter because of a couple BIG plays and DT made them happen, not Tebow. I will give him credit when he ran and it was refreshing to see a quarterback put his head down and fight for a couple extra yards. He looked like a running back when he ran. Not like an out of shape and injured Ben who laid down. The winning reception again, a well placed ball that any quarterback, possibly some here could have made to a very wide open receiver, again Demetrius Thomas with an awesome stiff arm to win the game... not a quarterback accomplishment IMO. An incredible quarterback would have had the Bronco's up another 3 touchdowns IMO, the receivers tore apart the Steelers back field and Tebow just couldn't hit them all. And I'm now hoping he wins the Superbowl but he better suck it up and play better than he did yesterday. The Steelers are known as the best defense in the NFL, sure if they had all their starting players.
Let me ask this, hypothetically saying, the Steelers kicked a field goal to win the game with seconds left in the 4th... Would Tebow have had an awesome game or would everyone be talking about all the missed opportunites on wide open receivers, would they only point out the less than 50% pass completions and missed 3rd down conversions because he passed the ball into the dirt on wide open receivers, I get that if he lost, they would be blaming him so how can he be praised because they pulled it out on the wheels of Demetrius Thomas?
