Well, some might be following this somewhat, but this seems like the saga that never ends. For background, I am shooting a Redhead Kronik, which I believe is the same or close to a BowTech Tomkat. I know the bow is made by Diamond. A couple weeks ago, I got a new string put on. I had been fighting some issues, and today decided to increase my DL from 28 to 29. I am set at 70lbs. I was sitting down trying to figure out how to adjust my Draw Stop, which I still don't quite understand. Anyways, I got to looking at my string, and this just doesn't seem right. I am attaching a couple pics. Its kind of hard to see, but the string cross over the cable when looking at the bow from the left. There is a major rub there. Instinct says it should be the other way around. I tried to check this against other pictures of Kronik's on the web, but most pics don't exactly focus on this aspect of the bow. So, am I right, or just being a little obsessive compulsive here? EDIT - I am now putting up a third pic. Its a little fuzzy, but I was trying to take a pic of the guard with both the cable and string. You can see that the slot for the string is offset slightly more to the right than the slot for the cable. Yet, the string then crosses over in front of the cable, so crosses the cable to the left of the cable when viewed from the rear.
If your cables are rubbing then no they are not correct, but here's the quick fix, simply turn your cable slide around. If you look at the cable slide you will see the one slot is slightly offset from the other, this allows the cables to have a gap between them.
So the cables should not be rubbing?? Hmmmm....When my Cables dont touch i get erradic flight and my string isnt quite riding the top wheel correctly, but when they are touching, everything lines up perfect and shoots really well and alot quieter on my Stinger NI..
