I think your D-loop is fine. To me, your DL looks a little long, but I'm with Bryan, I like a slightly short DL. I also like it when the string barely touches the tip of my nose for an anchor. Between the wrist sling and the slightly long DL, you might find it more difficult to put pressure against the back wall. If you are overdrawing too much, your drawing shoulder can become weak.

That was the main reason I loved it when I switched to a thumb style release. everything felt more solid. Wouldn't hurt to go to a shop and see if they have a Creed (or similar bow) in a DL 1/2 or 1" shorter. Shoot it and see how the length feels.

If you are comfortable, feel strong with pressure against the draw stop and are shooting well, go tell me to pound sand :tu:

Getting slapped on the forearm is a sign of a draw length that is too long.

You might try shortening up your release just a hair to give a little more pressure against the wall. Not too much. and I would definitely get a peep installed

getting forearm slap is also from grip position. if you use the thumb pad on the back of the grip instead of your whole hand it will cause your arm to bow outward away from your string. that will also position your fingers at a 45 degree vs. 90 degree fingers. Hope that helps

Yup. I actually measure at 29 but I went with 28.5 cams.

Going to a slightly shorter draw could work but before that I would just try changing your grip instead of dropping $60 on a new cam. A few extra fps never hurt anyone. I have a short draw so I would like to have the longest draw possible and still have the string on the tip of my nose being comfortable and accurate. I've actually grown 3" since my draw was set at 27" and it's starting to feel a little cramped so after this season I might try a longer draw.

Shorten your draw buy a full inch. You look way long, especially considering that the picture is taken at a downward angle. Had you been upright with the bow perpendicular to your body it would be even more pronounced.

I am with trial. Your draw looks too long, even with you aiming down (holding the bow with the arrow parallel to the ground is best for draw length evaluation). For reference you want the end of the arrow shaft under the center of your eye.

Yea it really does feel too long to me. My pro shop is open until 10p today so I'm going to go down there and have them check it and order a new cam if need be. I need to get this sorted soon!

Btw this bow is set at 27.5/60#

Thanks! Unfortunately my release is set as short as it can go.

Yep...I mean its hard to tell from that pic with the angle...I would fix all things mentioned...try to work on your grip... drop your bow arm shoulder...but even with that the nocking point should come to just at your pupil...your is 1/2 to 1" behind that so I would say you are long. With that said just because you are a tad long doesn't mean you can't shoot well. You just have to be consistent...if you can change your form to get rid of the arm slap and then have a consistent anchor point...you could shoot just fine...There are plenty of people with draw lengths too long who get it done in the woods. With that said I personally wouldn't do that as I measure at closer to 29" DL but I choose to shoot 28.5" draw mods & I shoot better that way.

Oh one more thing at full draw try dropping your front shoulder by pulling your shoulder blade down and push your bow arm out towards the target and see how you feel against the back wall might fix that wanting to go feeling.

The math/measure methods will get you close to your correct draw length. You can't actually know what it is for sure until you shoot your bow. Shoot what feels comfortable and allows for proper form and anchor.

Even differen bows can vary slightly for different archers. Once you find the perfect length for this bow, the next one may be a little different.

I agree with some of the other guys as well. Thank you for getting the picture as it definately helped. You look to be about an inch long. So I would start with that and see how you feel. As mentioned above, alot of guys like to be on the shorter side sometimes especially when hunting. Once you factor in about 200 layers of clothing to stay warm on a deer stand having it a tad shorter does help out a bit. If you go about an inch shorter you should be able to have the tip of your nose on the string at full draw and people to look through your peep. It will give you another anchor point which will also help you be more accurate.

** keep in mind guys, hes only drawing his living room to show us the draw length. He might do things differently outside or in a range.

Let us know how things go, I think your on the right track with things.

After looking close I would agree with some of the other guys and say that your draw is about a inch long.
