Is JoePa's legacy forever tarnished? And will he re-sign?

The only silver lining for me is that Jerry Sandusky won't be alive very long in prison without protective custody. Either that or he will get repaid in the back door multiple times.

Justice may not come from the actual justice system but it will work itself out in prison. May he rot in hell.

 

Wow, this is so sad. I remember watching Big Ten Media day and reporters asking JoePa how he ran such a clean program. What a way for it to end.

The victims will never get justice, not with crimes of this nature. There is no justice.

The university was enabling him to sexual abuse boys. There are a number of people that need to take responsibility for this. It just keeps getting worse. I see a 9th victim has come forward, and you can bet there are many that won't. Its scary to think just how many victims there were, and how many could have been prevented.

 

There is a special place in hell set aside for all those involved.

 

With out me actually speaking of the how shocking and disgusting this scandal is... It i sickening to hear some PSU fans use this as a platform to get Joe Paterno to finally resign.

These poor kids were abused and all some PSU fans can think about is "Yeah, JoePa is finally going to have to retire!". Loss for words... I don't even know what to say to that.

 

As a Pitt fan/grad, and having lived in state college for a year and saw first hand the university brain washing that takes place up there, I've never ever been a PSU fan in the least bit. I does not suprise me to see the level of cover up and PSU fan reaction. It's unfortunate it took a scandal covering up one of the worst crimes that can be committed to expose the arrogance and hypocrasy of that place. Few will get what they deserve for thier role, as it seems legal "right" doesn't extend as far as moral right so only a few are being implicated with actual charges. A "tarnished" reputation is hardly justice for allowing child molestation to go on under your nose and by one of your emplyees.

 

I think this is part that leaves me with the most questions..... If I witnessed such and incident, there'd be a dead old man laying in the bloody shower room!!! Sadly, it sounds like the higher ups did worse than Joe PA, as they never pushed the issue to a trial. I have more questions than answers in this. I'm not 100% sure what Joe PA really believed, and it saddens me to think that he may have allowed such behavior to occur. I'd like to believe he was ignorant to the facts and thought that those above him had thoroughly investigated this and deemed it to be dealt with.

I have to question how on earth numerous potential issues were swept under the rug. How and why did people not go to the POLICE??? Where the hell are their obligations??? I would've thought Joe PA turning it over to the AD and VP of the school was doing the RIGHT THING, in allowing them to investigate, therefore keeping it from being an investigation that may potentially look swayed.

McQueary himself really may be at risk of some legal troubles because of the mandatory reporting of such events to police that he may have been constrained with as a graduate assistant, and had he gone to the police, he may have ended this sad mess back in 2002!!! I just have to wonder if Joe PA maybe wasn't sure what McQueary (irony in the name) really saw!!!

 

While I have no experience with this, I have to assume witnessing a boy getting butt-raped by a major member of your coaching staff in a shower is pretty easy to identify. I don't see any gray area there.

McQueary and Paterno are just two names in a long list of people that could have done more to stop this.

 

Matt, I have NEVER known the punishment to fit the crime in a molestation case ... they are the lowest of the low ... I despise them and will not weep over them burning in Hell .... and yeah, I'm a preacher .... flame away ...

 

Not sure if I made myself clear. The tarnished image of the university is unfortunate, but it certainly is overshadowed by the lasting impact these actions will have on these kids. I'm not using this event as a platform for outing Joe, it's just unfortunate the man so many fans respected may have known more or did less than could have been done. It's sad...truly is.

 

They need to walk Sandusky off a friggin cliff. THEN, the AD and the VP need to be incarcerated for failure to report the crimes to the police. Those boys lives were severely hurt by the inaction of many "important" people. F them.

 

I'm with Tony on this. Words can not explain how low, disguisting, and twisted this story is. It is absolutely sickening......

JoePa's reputation tarnished? Hell yes, and it should be. Anyone and everyone who knew or had the slightest clue as to what was happening needs to be punished.

 

If we know about nine cases. There are at least 27 we know nothing about. What is so sad and infuriating is how many children were victims after the shower incident. It could and should have ended right there. It did not . That is mind boggling.

 

Seriously .. and I know this will piss off the pious Christians and those that believe I should act like a priest, but I hate these murderers ,,, they kill their victims inside and leave them alive ,,,, they are vile, disgusting, no good pieces of garbage .... I say rub female gorilla scent on their arse and throw them in a male gorilla cage ...after he rips them open, cut off their junk and feed it to them .... and let them bleed to death slowly ...

 

Tony, I am not very, if at all, religious, but I think you are onto something here. You are acting like a human being that shows compassion for people. I don't think it has anything to do with what your beliefs are. Anyway, I haven't read the transcripts and I never will because this type of ****e makes me sick to my stomach. I do in fact volunteer to be left alone with all of these guys with a roll of duct tape and a ball peen hammer. There is a special place in hell for these guys and I hope they get there as soon as possible.

Only thing I can see is JoePa or admins simply not believing what would seem to be ludicrous claims.

The weirdest one is the GUY WHO SAW IT! I would have a hard time believing someone telling me a close co worker or friend of mine was raping little boys when he is a public figure head, but if I freakin saw it with my own two eyes IDK how I could NOT do everything in my power to bring it to light!
