Is it wrong to give the "outsiders" different candy for Halloween?

Sorry all I heard was pillow and give me. [IMG] Just kidding I just used that as an example because those little rolls of smarties have become so small. I like them but it would suck to get just one roll at a house

Hell, I haven't had a trick or treater at my door in over 20 years.

But I always have candy on hand just in case. Hell, if I get one , they might get the whole bag.

Ha! Right after I posted that I knew there was going to be a comment about the pillow case, I set mysef up for that one :) I know...I was being a smartie...about the smarties. But, they truly are my favorite!

We didn't have a single trick or treater in the 7ish years we were in central IL. Even when I lived up in the armpit of IL we rarely had any show up. At the one place up there I was a mile from the projects, at the other, just a couple of blocks. When the kids with no costumes would show up, they would get the good candy just like the few dressed up kids did. A lot of those kids from the projects looked like they were already within inches of being defeated on life. Not only would I never consider not giving them candy, I felt like telling them to keep their chin up. (but they were not at all rude or demanding kids... they were quiet, polite and sad looking.)

Anyhow, I always buy the good stuff. This year, I bought snickers, reese's pb cups, oh henrys, and kit kats because I will be surprised if we don't have a bunch of trick or treaters out here. (everybody has two ATVs, two dirtbikes, two trucks, two dogs and four kids out here) In fact, I'm going to also buy a bunch of skittles just in case we run out of the candy bars. I think skittles suck... but if they are left overs, they make good trapping bait. :D

I refuse to buy more than $150 worth of candy. I find it ridiculous that I have to buy that much, and it is always gone by 8 pm. I have a feeling that most on here that are hating, might get like 10 trick or treaters total. I get literally hundreds of kids within a 2 hour span. At some point, I'm just conserving candy.

Call me cheap if you want. I don't care.

You would definitely call me cheap. I would not spend more than $40, and when its gone the curtains are closed and lights out if I were in that situation. Thankfully I am not, we get zero trick or treaters.

those bigs bags of mixed candy are like $20/bag, and I always have to buy 6-8 of them

Like I said, we get hit HARD

We get the neighborhood kids, but since we live right behind a very large church, and that just happens to be where all the "outsiders" park or drop their kids off, our house is one of the first they see when they round the corner

Go to Costco or (gasp) Walmart. 15.00 for 150 count of the good candy bars.

That's what you get for living in the good neighborhood. I've managed to live in places where parents, who cared and had some gas money, gathered up the kids and drove them to places like yours. Ha ha. ;)

When I was a kid there was always a house or two in my neighborhood where the person gave out a couple of pennies instead of candy. You could be that house. :D

Never home for Halloween in a tree or at work. Speaking of holidays Xmas sucks everyone is super gay, stores are packed, and traffic sucks.

    We don't have Costco here...

We buy the 250 count bags from Target.

I don't know why more communitiez don't do like ours.

Most of the kids in the county go downtown where the merchants are giving out candy for a set period of time.

Hooker is dishing out over 1000 pieces of candy and the guys in here who hand out 4 laffy taffys a year are calling him a cheap ***. lol

We've always had a regular bowl for kids, then special bags/treats for friends of the family/neighbors that stop by. It's pretty normal I would think.

IT'S CANDY. For the guys talking about starving kids and the likes, ITS CANDY. If you really cared, you'd slip them a $20 gift card to the local grocery store. Don't pull that card.

I'm pretty sure you just made WAY too much sense for several of these guys to handle. They don't want the truth. They cant handle the truth. (In my best Jack Nicholson voice)

I've already eaten 1/3 of the dam candy I bought for Halloween LOL.

This is my first year in this neighborhood so no idea how many kids are going to show up at my house
