Is it wrong to give the "outsiders" different candy for Halloween?

    General rule:

Neighborhood kids get to pick their candy, and get more than 1 piece, while "outsiders" get handed 1 piece of candy

Although I will generally let this rule slide if the kid is dressed in a costume and says "trick or treat!".

Does this make me a bad person?

I hope not! My wife and I have done that exact thing for years. Some years we even make up special gift bags for our friends and close neighbors' kids. It's all good.

I think it's absolutely fine. The older trick or treaters should be wearing a costume and saying "trick or treat" anyways. If they just open their bags and don't say anything that wouldn't work with me. If they are just little kids that don't really know what to do that's fine, but older kids can say "trick or treat" and "thank you". Otherwise, they would get the bare minimum from me. Luckily I don't have to really deal with this though because of where I live.

It almost like when some one carelessly leaves the door open on the "atom smasher" are you being pretentious by pushing it closed?

You guys are to much, not a week goes by here that the discussion fails to involve some aspect of a beer that taste like fruity pebbles and that cost only a third more than a nice top sirloin, yet you bum rush your neighborhood kids out of a full size box of skittles? Gotta love the process.

If you can not afford to be fair to all of the children then you should probably refrain.

If you find this a real dilemma, then I would guess you are incapable of much thought.

    Are you a Democrat?
In my neighborhood there is a line of cars parked at the end of the road filled with kids that aren't from the hood. So yeah I do treat them different especially if they aren't polite. They'll be lucky to get a roll of smarties if they don't say Trick or Treat. The kids from the hood get a handful if they are polite which they normally are and the parents get a beer or a wine cooler.

Were you ever the kid not dressed perfect, from the wrong side of the tracks and hungry? Its not the kids fault. Frame it anyway you like I would never agree.

    trick or treating

I'm talking about trick or treating

    trick or treating has rules

    1) you must have a costume
    2) you must say "trick or treat!"

    it's not difficult

Oh yea, the question is a real head scratcher, do we give the tall kid in the "hoodie" a bite size skittles or save the "good-stuff" for our favorite my little neighborhood beauty queen?

    God I miss Vito!

Yes Hooker for some familys it is tough to buy costumes and know the correct mannerisms. To act like there is no children in the U.S. right now not dealing with poverty is overlooking the truth.

Like I said before if you can not afford to give to the children, just refrain.

This is true, I have seen "kids" walk up with a hoodie and a mask and just hold a bag out expecting candy.
