Looks like from what I have found on the internet (have not had time to see my pro shop yet) is that I need to acquire a new Cam Module for this bow to fit my draw length....however with the age of the bow this has proven to be difficult.

Will any module work (provided it was designed for the specific cam) ??

IMO I would keep it because she got it for you. Some women wouldnt even bother. Like others have said, at one point it was the latest and greatest. They are so right, it will kill deer as well now as it did then. Take it to a reliable pro shop, get fitted with a DL and DW. I would reccommend checking for new cam mods to adjust DL, but if they dont have them, I would be up front with your wife about it, and tell her it just wont work for hunting, or target shooting.
I would definitely get the cams, limbs, and stings tuned and inspected to make sure everything is safe and ready to go. You have a nice long off season ahead. Take that and learn your bow. One day today's flagship models will be just like that; old and outdated. But they kill deer now, so if everything is safe and up to date, why wont they in 30 years. I hope this helps good luck, and no matter which bow you have, keep practicing!

I would keep it and shoot it this year. I have bought 3 brand new bows in the last 8 months and I get nothing but disgusting looks and comments from my wife. Even though its an old bow YOU can make it a shooter again. She put the thought into it to buy it for you, I think you owe her at least this year with it, as long as it is in good shape and you can get it to fit you. After this year with it buy you a new hunting rig and you could possibly turn this one into a descent 3D rig. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck!

I started with an old bear compound, and shot it for 15 years. I was just too broke to buy a new one, and I have a lot of attachment to that bow. But I bought a PSE and I haven't shot the bear since, it's just not anywhere close to my $350 PSE bow.

So see if you can get the DL adjusted, if not, it's going to cause more issues than it's worth IMO. If you can, hunt with it this year and kill a deer with it, then think about upgrading.
