Do any of you fine hunters think it is to early to use doe in heat urine lure this weekend? I've been seeing a lot of deer movement these last couple of days, and most of the deer being buck. I'm new to this using lure stuff!!!:o

I'd say you're about a week to 10 days early for the doe estrus lures. Buck urine may work alright as the bucks should be feeling their oats and really starting to scrape, rub, and establish dominance. Us that in conjunction with some light rattling or a decoy and you may be able to draw one in.

I would start by using curiosity scents like trails end #307. But the first couple of does are going to start popping into estrous within the next week in a half. so it might pay off for you to be that first one to send that smell through your deer woods.

X2 We're entering what I feel may be the very best part of the season. When bucks are still on relative patterns, but getting ornery and starting to rub and scrape more. IMO, you have a two week window here when bucks can be called and rattled and are pretty susceptible. Once the seek and chase phase of the rut starts, all bets are off. You'll never know where a buck might be from one day to the next or from one hour to the next for that matter.

Depends on how far north you are. By November 10th, we're getting close to the end of the rut here.

Dominant buck urine is where I would start this early.

O.K. I guess I'll just have to see what this weekend brings. I'll probably wait for the last weekend of the month,I don't want to take a chance of spooking any deer. Thank you for all the input. I sure am glad I found this site, the folks here are great!
