Do you think it's really just to hot for deer movement or just because of the heat you don't want to sit in the stand?
It's supposed to be around 80 here on firday afternoon but I will be in my stand
so what do you guys think

Normally here the 1st 2 weeks of Oct are pretty tough anyways. I am going to give my properties a break. If you have water sources hunt there. Good Luck !

If the heat is TOO much, you always have the option of a morning hunt, when it's cooler. Deer have to eat, which means they have to move, but maybe the deer in your area are moving more during the night?

we are right along the river for most of the property. I think it's definetly worth a sit

It's a long season...I have little motivation to sweat my butt off in weather in which there will likely be little deer activity anyhow. Hunting in the heat just isn't enjoyable to me...not to mention the challenge it poses in taking care of the meat if you do kill one.

We are expecting 90 degrees up here tomorrow!

I'll wait for the cooler weather....I have all Fall to hunt.

I was going to go for a couple days this week, but when I saw how warm it was going to be I thought I would save those days and go when the conditions would be more favorable.

It's hard not to leave human sent in this weather. I talked my little brother out of going for this first time tomorrow morning due to weather. I told him he'll need to bring a couple bags of ice with him to the stand and pack the carcass as soon as its found.

Saturday morning I saw a ton of deer. Sunday and Monday night were a bust. I will be hunting Friday and Saturday morning for sure, not sure what I'm doing all week at night since nothing is moving.

Did you check the trails by your mock scrapes?
My taxidermist got a 158++ this past sunday and said he had 2 sets of bucks sparring on video.
I'm hoping that I will atleast have a shot open this time when I go out

The Mock scraped turned into ghost scrapes. The leaves are falling on some of the trees and they haven't been hit. I need to freshen them up Friday morning if I hunt that part of the property.

Doesn't help if you are near too much water :poke:

That would be the down side of 10,000 lakes. 5.5 miles of shoreline, plus miles of creeks & drainages into my lake alone....

Unfortunately, with that big pond behind the house, my morning stands just outside their bedding areas is socked in with fog EVERY morning.
