Is it odd to base your college schedule around hunting. I have set my schedule this year to allow for ample hunting time. I thought about that today and was wondering if this is odd or not. Weigh in please

When I was in college, I used the base of my popcorn popper to cook venison steaks in the dorm. It's all good!

Odd? I believe it demonstrates that you have a great mind. Well done!

I missed a few optional final exams and even took a B+ over an A- for it once so that I could make it home for turkey season. In the end the little things like whether you got an A or a B don't matter, it's what you did and how you lived that you'll remember. So maybe it's odd but that doesn't make it wrong! I say kudos to you! (As a disclaimer; whether you get a B or an F or even a C does matter!) I'd rather have a newbie with a 3.2 GPA and some life experience come through my office any day over a 4.0 student that never did anything other than study and who I've got to worry about getting their head taken off by a gilson hook on deck because they don't know enough to look up.

I'll steal this from Will; "It is the very things we know that keep us from learning the things we should know. We gotta get out more!"

Did the same back in the day...loved loading up classes either T/Th or MWF so I had more days off to hunt...enjoy it - there's nothing like having no responsibility:)

Not at all! I do the same! I actually check the syllabus and see if I have to re-arrange exams for an annual week long hunting trip at the beginning of the semester.

I made my schedule to where I had Fridays off this year and get out at 1:30 on Tuesdays and Thursday so I could maximize my hunting time. Getting Fridays off was my best move since I like to take trips to the western part of the state, and I got a nice 40 acre lease here at school yesterday, so it should be a good season hopefully.

I had Tuesday/Thursday classes my last 3 years of college... it was perfect. I can't tell you how many 10:30 classes I showed up for in my camo :D My grades were always better in the spring semester and my parents couldn't figure out why I could make the dean's list in the spring but never in the fall... it's all about proper planning.

College may be the only time in your life you are able to plan your "have to do's" around the "want to do's" go and make the most of it!

I only had one class ever on Fridays, and most were Tues/Thurs. The long weekends were great!

Definitely not odd. My favorite semester in college was when I got to take Bowhunting (yes, as a class) as my phys ed elective. I studied A LOT that semester.:D
