I think there's always some ehd casualties in this state and it has been bad in that area this year for sure. I hunt a property in a neighboring county and I think it was 04 that the landowner "called off deer season" altogether on his place because so many had died. I didn't blame him. The woods wreaked of death that summer. We hunted other properties in another end of the state. If a bad dry spell sets in it will get worse this year. I've also heard that if a deer survives ehd it's hooves will be cracked. I have no idea if this is true, but that's what people around here say. I have killed deer with cracked hooves but who knows if they had ehd.
Heard report of farmer seeing 2 dying in Logan County today. I expect we will hear quite a few reports here in the next week or so. Hopefully it won't be too bad or widespread.
