    Oh I late to this party... crossbows will be the downfall of archery hunting... even civilization if we're not careful....

    On a serious note. Yes, it was one of the things I feared may happen. Judging by the talk I hear at a local shop that I frequent, where guys talk about the latest xbow shooting 400fps.... effective range to 100 yards, etc., I think the article has real merit. Now, its not the weapons fault. Its the companies pushing them to some extent. I feel that its mostly up the person buying it to realize that what the companies brainwash us with is BS.

    Compound, xbox, recurve, it doesn't matter. We're pushing the envelope technology wise to extend the range of killing effectiveness, losing touch with the close quarters, "in your face", challenge of what archery hunting is supposed to be.
