Best of luck to you! Needless to say, I'm jealous. For those wanting to follow: http://ironmanlouisville.com/results/ Make sure the year is correct and enter his bib number: 1633
Thanks xxForceTenxx! Good drive down to Louisville! All checked in to the race and hotel! Rules meeting tonight then off to bed!
It is crazy here in Louisville! Bike and all my gear is now in transition. Now just waiting for the early morning alarm clock and the gun to go off to jump into the nasty Ohio river! I have been to several Ironman races before but never as a competitor and if you ever get a chance to go watch the finish line I strongly suggest you do. Between 11PM and Midnight is the best time. So emotional and motivating I have never seen anything like it in my life! Looking foward to experiencing from a different view tomorrow night though hopefully around 8 or 9pm!
Unfortunately, no. Have too many things conflicting for that weekend. If I don't get it next year, I'll volunteer to get in. Part of me also doesn't want to do it. I have a difficult time accepting the cost of the entry fee. Best of luck to you tomorrow. I'm surprised you're still awake.
Thank you all for all the good wishes the last few weeks. Yesterday was the toughest day I ever had but it just wasn't my day. I developed terrible leg cramps on the bike at mile 46 and was never able to get rid of them. My swim felt great and I tried to do the run but by mile 2 I was done. This morning I still have no feeling in my toes, my foot is swollen so bad and I have a terrible pain in my right knee/leg. Not sure if that is it for my Ironman races or not. Will have to heel up and see down the road if I decide to try this again or not. Knowing how I am I will most likely give this another try!
Heal up buddy; that was one heckuva undertaking you attempted there!!! I kept clicking back on the Ironman site later and later (up to about 11 p.m.) last night and figured something like that happened when I never saw your run splits posted... Lemme tell ya, you got some serious balls for even ATTEMPTING something like that, let alone for making it as far as you did!
great job ferg. u did better than I could of. time for bow season so heal up Sent from my X10a using Tapatalk
Thanks guys! Greg cool knowing you were following me all day. Would have like it to go differently but I am sure I will give it another try. Not one to let something like this get the best of me. And I know it is something that I can complete. Just need to be better prepared!
Was a good effort! I know how leg cramps can be a killer on a lot of things. Usually, I don't get them on the bike. Just the run. Happens to the best of us. Heal up for the season and tackle it after that.
