Simple question: Do your IR cameras make an audible "Click" sound when they take pictures in IR mode?

Mine do, and it sucks. In all honesty, my IR cams have spooked more big bucks than my flashers ever did, and that's the reason that I'm almost ready to sell the IR's and go back to the regular flash cams.

I use Wildview cameras, and they take awesome pics, they're cheap, and I've had really good luck with them. BUT, I hate this clicking sound.

My buddy got fed up, and grabbed two new Wildgame Innovations cameras, and they click too. Maybe even louder!

Do your cams click when in IR mode? If not, which brands are you using?

None of the ones I have do but I've heard of that issue being a problem with the Primos cams.

DLC Covert Reveal white flash camera. No issues spooking deer and more importantly no click. If your interested let Tom (Monster Raxx) know and he can hook you up !

I had a few Predator IR cams and they made a clicking noise that got me so fired up I sold them and said to hell with that. Im never going to get a mature deer to come into a camera that constantly making noise and scarring them away.
My bushnell trophy cams dont make a single noise and have few little glow effect in the bulbs. I love these little cams, take good pics, GREAT battery life, and very reliable and dont miss anything!

My primos 46 has a clunk
I have 5 of the x6c wgi and they have zero noises and i just got a w8x wgi and it's quite also
In the last week i have gotten 2 colvert 3.0 and they are quite also
last week i bought a spypoint ir6 and tested it alot with zero issues maybe my best cam yet picked up movement almost double the distance as the colvert cam in testing with 100 degree heat at night here.

I have on order the new primos dps cam thats just a plot watcher style deal that i am exited about and will post after it comes in.But the price is very attractive over most cams on the market.

Here is a video from my x6c in ir mode last fall.

The WGI camera my buddy just tested out - it's the W3X, and it definitely clicks. It glows too, but I really don't care about the glow.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the sound emanates from a special lens moving into place over the lens once the camera engages IR mode.

Rutin, I'd really like to give those Bushnell's a try, given their claimed battery life and picture clarity. Problem is, we run between 10-16 cameras at a time, so they have to be CHEAP. If I replaced the whole fleet - at $200 each, we'd be looking at $2000-3000 in cameras!

Tough to justify that kind of expenditure.

Right now, I think we have 10 flashers and 6 IR's out. The 2 new WGI IR's are hanging in my buddy's back yard for field testing before we put them into service.

All flash cams will spook deer, Ir even more and it has changed deer patterns on me in the past.I even put cams 13-14 feet up and deer still pick off the red glow. I just ordered a primos dps plot cam that has no flash at all but needs 16-32 gb card which is $$ but the cam was like $88.00

    well best of luck.

My No Flash Cuddebacks click, I hate It. Then again, I hate these camera's. My two RC60 Reconyx's don't click and don't have any lights when In IR mode. I'll be getting a HC600 Reconyx In about a week and that one won't click either or have lights In IR mode. I also ordered a Bushnell (Black Flash). That one better not click which I'm sure It won't being the other Bushnells don't. IR lights and clicking spooks deer, no doubt.

Quik- Check out ebay you can pick the 8mp Bushnell up for $130-$145 tyd all day long, still not "cheap" but its better than buying junk cams to get by. The moultrie m80 is $120 on ebay but I would pay the few extra bucks for the bushnell after the reviews ive read.

My new Cudde Attack must be making somekind of noise as I'm getting some pics of deer fleeing. I never had that with the capture cams. I'm pulling it today and replacing it with something else.
