You can use the Maps app, which is legitimate. But yes, Google Maps also works on the 5. If you get an iPhone, you will really enjoy it. How many people on here, have used one, and not be happy with the purchase?
For me the apple maps are better than google and any issues they have today they will solve in Apple style. Then google will copy them.
Read the news on the subject. Apple just went on record that they really screwed up on the map issue. No, you can not use Google maps and yes, the Apple maps have some serious issues as admitted by Apple. They will fix it, and then once again they will be caught back up to existing technology, maybe. This from the web today: In a public letter to customers on Apple's website, Cook apologized for the poor performance of Maps, but promises it'll get better.
Are you sure? There are many sites on the web which detail how to use Google Maps on an Iphone 5? One of them... http://www.itworld.com/mobile-wireless/298120/use-google-maps-iphone-5
As I said, for me the maps are better. I could careless if the Eiffel does not show up in 3D. The iPhone is what made the other companies wake up. Not the other way around. For me I also love shallow water fishing a these new maps really show the holes and shallow water well. Note how they caught a jet coming in for landing at PBIA
Ahhh, you got me. Stereotypes are fun. I came across this fun tidbit. iPhone users most likely: [*=left]Women, older than 35 [*=left]Liberal [*=left]Slightly more optimistic [*=left]Strong verbal aptitude [*=left]Visited more than five countries [*=left]Prefer a sleek device that does a few things (122 percent more likely) [*=left]First been on the Internet before 1992 [*=left]Mac users (100 percent more likely) [*=left]Own own email domain [*=left]Hang up immediately on telemarketers [*=left]Favorite TV shows: Planet Earth, Portlandia [*=left]Favorite books: A Visit From the Goonsquad, Switch [*=left]Cereal: Kashi GoLean Crunch [*=left]Sushi
If only Apple's CEO shared your same view... "In an extremely rare move, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook publicly apologized for the company’s new maps app, which replaced Google Maps on the iPhone.Cook admits the new maps application “fell short” of the company’s commitment to providing the “best experience possible” and the CEO even goes on to recommend that customers try out other maps applications — including Google’s — while Apple works to improve its own. The maps app has been widely panned by reviewers and customers alike online, for having many fundamental errors in 3D mapping and directions, and falling short of the standard set by Google Maps."
Good to know someone was able to find a crutch for the new iPhone. Lucky...... Maybe by the iPhone 7 the paint wont all scrape off the aluminum. That would be cool. Good times..... But really, I could not care less.
Just left a medical seminar for some new technology and apps coming out, which further proved my point on why to get an iPhone. This particular company and many others do not and will not in the future release apps for Android products as the turnover between models is too inconsistent. They now have a "shazam for pills" so to speak. Dump out a handful of ANY pills on a little tray they designed, line up your iPhone camera and snap a pic. It them comes up with the name, dose, indication, and interactions of every pill on the tray. They are only capable to do this because of the strict manufacturer controls in place with Apple products. If they design an app based on an Apple 4S camera, that camera will not change for the life of that model which is typically 2 years. Android models switch hardware within models and even switch models more frequently making it more difficult for app designers to design apps for these devices. Not to mention the cost effectiveness for designers to introduce android apps when Apple products dominate that market. I'll be beta testing this new technology in the next few weeks and I'll post up how it works with some screen shots for you guys. It could very seriously change the medical field and medication errors which account for 100-300 BILLION dollars in wasted money annually. It is easily used by both healthcare professionals (where I think it will catch on) and patients alike.
Don't pharmacist go to school for like 8 years to prevent errors? Now they are being replaced by a phone app? I like how upgrades and improvements are called "inconsistencies".
Good point. The droids tend to continually upgrade their products. Apple likes to wait a couple of years and then make a big production of it. I agree. As soon as I open a pharmacy I am switching to the iPhone. Good heads up there. Unless maybe the droid folks can come up with a crutch to get around it like the Apple map thing...hmmmm.
For what I'm using the iPhone for I'm not going back to google maps for now. It find what I'm looking for.
So the iPhone is the best phone that everyone copies, except for the technology it doesn't offer or does poorly, but then those things don't matter because its good enough for you. But its still the best phone. I think I got it now.
Very true. Used the new ipad map update to get my grandfather to the airport we are flying out of in 20 minutes. Curious. What do iPhone haters have to say about the iPad?
Again. Apple has come a long way and played second fiddle for years because it seemed if they couldn't come out with a better product they didn't do it at all. No releasing beta software to let the masses fight with. It's funny, I owed some apple stocks back in the 90's that I got tried of and sold, I can't imagine what they'd be worth today I think we American should be proud to see our American company doing what we do best. Thinking outside the box and creating cutting edge technologies that advances the whole world. Ps. Did I mention the iPhone 5 is wicked fast
