Apple is actually calling it "The New iPad" and not iPad 3. They made a point of that when they revealed it yesterday. Not sure why though. Eventhough I have been on the iPhone bandwagon since the beginning, I have yet to purchase an iPad. With that said, this will most likely be the model I jump in on.
I'll be ordering mine sometime in the next few months. I'm finding more and more frequently that my phone isn't quite large enough to handle all my surfing needs, and my laptop is too cumbersome to lug around all the time.
Kept up with the live blogging yesterday and Pre-ordered mine last night! Jobs may be gone but the presentation had his feel all over it yesterday. Apple need not even worry about looking in the rear view mirror anymore...they've become just too dominant. End to end product integration that seamlessly integrating data via Icloud. Awesome.
I'll stick with my ipad1 for now, it does everything i need. But i will be getting an iPhone this year to replace my android
Just bought the gf the ipad2 for christmas and thinking about doing apples trade in deal. Its not a bad offer on their part. I got on their website and got a quote and its just a few bucks under what you can get an ipad 2 new. (Thats the new ipad2 price)
I honestly find tablets to be of little use to me. Then again, I'm one of the dying breed who prefers working on a desktop more than anything. For regular browsing (no photo editing/digital design work), my laptop and phone suffice. Give me a Sandy Bridge PC with a nice 24" 8 bit IPS LCD, and I'm set. I do believe the screen on the new ipad is the most impressive to me. I just can't see me whipping out something like that all the time in public without feeling like I should be wearing a knit hat and skinny jeans in the summertime.
I was thinking about it but might wait till they are out for a month or so just to make sure no major bugs are discovered. I have dealing with warranty, replacements and upgrades. Probably will order one though.
I'll probably pull the trigger on one, but not anytime soon. I think it would be a great storage and viewing device for photos and videos for me personally. Have all files ready to be viewed at a high resolution quickly would be a great luxury to have.
Never thought I would consider jumping on the iPad bandwagon until I was 'forced' to carry one around last fall doing some testing on it for work... Holy smokes, I couldn't believe how useful it was.... Most of what I was doing could be done on a smart phone but the larger screen was a huge advantage. On more than one occasion I was able to bring up satellite images and aerial pics while sitting in my hotel room at night or on a few occasions I pulled off the side of the road (I've got the Verizon data plan on it) because I wanted to know what the lay of the land was before getting out of my truck while goat hunting.... For me though, I'm not sure there are enough advantages with the new iPad over the iPad 2 - but maybe later this year I'll be 'forced' to check out the new model for work again :-)
Ditto on the iPad it has replaced my laptop as it is more mobile and user friendly. I keep my desk top and my laptop in the office and the iPad goes with me on the go. I don't know if I will upgrade to the new one just yet however I will be putting out some feelers to see what my market price will be to sell my iPad 2....I it's close I can see a new model in my hands very soon.
Maybe sometime later. It's hard to justify buying one when I can't think of many times I would need it.
