Rut activity is really picking up. I almost wittnessed a buck fight. Two bucks (one a nice ten that I passed on) circled eachother several times while snort wheezing. I wouldn't go in the woods without the grunt tube right this week because this is the time that it will work.
Pretty slow here so far, had a little fork horn walk by about 15mins ago, other than that, nada. Nice morning though.
Don't feel bad, I was stuck on a train for 10 hrs yesterday, seen like 12 deer, one really nice buck....
I'd rather be on a train...... least I could see outside. I wonder what they would do if I walked in here with a saw and put me in a window......
im in southwest iowa just shy of the MO border. I hunt public and private land in Taylor county, public in Fremont and page county.
Going out this weekend morning and afternoon it's going to be a cold one for sure. Got a scrape dripper out and it has been busy day and night so I'll try and get one or two videos up from that. Had some bucks chasing the Does on cams here also and a few fights in front of one cam so the colder it has gotten here the hotter it got. Young bucks are out chasing around a bit. A lot of my area still has corn though so honestly I haven't had the best of sits unless I make it east to Taylor county. My public ground here in Fremont county had a combine running beans so I hope things will pick up especially with this nice cold weather that made its way here. just a few days ago it was just shy of 80 out.
Hey guy it was a hot morning for me Saturday morning lots of bigger bucks chasing and younger ones doing the same I raddled in 7 and took a smaller 8 pointer that seem to have a leg problem and when we dressed him out he had a broken back leg and looked like he had been clipped by a car as je jumped because that was all that was wrong with him so he's not hurting any more and I get steak to put on the grill.
