Any one else get out this past weekend? Im going to try for Thursday evening sit under an acorn tree.
Has everyone else had slow action on the cameras? I just think there is too much corn that deer movement is minimal.
Im glad you loled I don't have any cams out but others on the forums have been saying the same thing. I wont get to be out until late in the season after the new addition is here so im going out every chance I can.
had the doe I'm planning on shooting come in this morning around 40 yards but she just won't give me a good shot!
Going out this weekend looks to be good hunting and may try and go out this afternoon. Trail cams have been busy and there has been a lot of scrapes popping up even have a scrape 10 feet from my stand o up now and has been getting worked over a lot so may have to put a cam there to see what's working it, last year had 5 bucks work this one scrape next to where this one is. Locked hope things happen for you and davidingle with the cold fronts we're getting thing tend to move around a lot more and in NE Iowa the big guys start to show up more to so spray down good and watch that wind because over there you never know when it'll happen so good luck to you guys.
Good luck Bentarrow! Let us know how it goes. The public land Im hunting doesn't seem to have to much pressure yet but im sure that will change :/
Yeah, lots of fields still with the corn unharvested. Went out this weekend see 4 does n a spike but none of them in range besides a doe I passed on. Hopefully once the corn is down, my spots will provide a better hunt.
6 days of hunting and not a single deer seen in 3 different spots. It's been warm and plenty of corn left so hopefully everything turns around once harvest is most over with. Anyone noticing more action in the morning versus the evening. All my hunts this far have been evening sits.
Been out 3 times. Two evening sits and one half day morning sit. Seen a couple does and a fawn at 330pm - 5pm on the evening sits Nothing in the morning sit but as posted above that was a mistake Evening sits for me if I get out before the rut
Not much this last weekend but a few does and fawns and a little fork point chasing a doe, but a lot more scrapes have showed up and some bigger rubs. We got a lot of the beans around us come out and they are just starting some of the corn but today it's raining so may go check the trail cams to see if any thing has been moving around on the other part of the land I hunt. I guess the 140's 8 point was seen Saturday by the food plot and I do have a cam by there so we'll see if I got him on cam.
Let us know what you find on your trail cam. I've decided to give the woods a rest for a couple weeks because of inactivity on my cams. Too much corn I'm hoping.
Made up a small video for you guys from my trail cam the videos are only 2 to 5 days old hope enjoy the short video.
More coyotes and a buck I call goat is back. Figured he would have died. He's a 4 pointer thats 4 ish. He's gotta go. No 1 on the list. But if i see the big 10 i would have a hard time passing him up. tried to hang 2 new sets today but got rained out.
Give it two more weeks and things will start to heat up more with movement of the bigger guys they'll start showing up it happens here every year around the first week of November right after the corn comes out and my cams become alive with more day time photos and video. Last year I got two nice bucks fighting in front of the camera and a lot of bucks I never seen before show up and it always happens the first week of Nov. here hope you get the same luck and that nice 10 point shows up for ya.
Well going to try and get out this weekend now that we got some cooler days ahead and going to see what have been moving on the trail cams and hoping there are more day time bucks moving now. Got more ground that goes into CRP this next year so been busy laying out our spots left out for food plots and what to plant. Hope you guys that get out have some luck a lot of crops have come out this past week also.
I'll be headed out tommorrow morning. First morning hunt this season. Sounds like it's lulling pretty bad right now, though. Let you know what i find on my cams
Not lulling on my property in SE Iowa. Had good movement all season of bucks in daylight hours. Went out Wednesday morning and seen 5 does, 1 buck, and heard 2 more in the corn behind where I was sitting.
