hey guys! so how are the cams looking for you guys so far? I'll be out on public land mostly again this year. Hopefully this is my year to drop my first deer!
Just started running them. Have a few small bucks. One that had 2 broken tines. I'll update as I get some. I was out west near the Loess Hills state forest a weekend or two ago... Wow. Fantastic land out there.
I hunt public, I haven't had any cameras out but was thinking about putting one out but haven't gotten around to it. Hope everyone is getting everything they need ready for the season! Anyone going out opening day?
I've had cameras out for about a month. Having a lot more activity near water. Specifically where corn meets creeks. Just like every year, the deer have cleared out of pastures with cattle in them. I know they will back when the cattle move to the fields in late October but its frustrating getting 10000 pics of cows. I dont know about you guys, but September feels like the longest month of the year.

I got property but honestly not sure when I'll be able to get back to hunt myself. It's 8-9 hours away at least. Just moved up here so I'll be hitting it hard in the area.
I'm ready for hunting! Got a few stands to hang but I'm in no rush since I mainly use my lone wolf anyways. I'm taking my church's new pastor's son youth hunting. That starts on the 19th. Hopefully I can get him on a good buck with the muzzleloader! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have been running cameras since about mid July. Got some dandies--I will try to get them posted on here ASAP. Just over a month until my first hunt and I agree with you Smitty... September is going to be a rough one to wait through.

Yeah ive seen you post there. Most of the guys on there are out east so its not a good judge of activity around here.
I work for a local railroad, ran a train from keokuk to good hope Illinois today, didn't see many deer moving, wasn't out hunting long enough opening day go see anything besides the one I shot...
