Yup just got my 3rd point. Not sure what route I plan to take yet in regard to public/lease/outfitter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You can party hunt if you know some guys and then save your points for archery. That’s my plan every other year till I can draw archery.
Last year 97 people with 4 points drew Zone 6 and 355 people with 4 or less did not draw. So it's not impossible, although pretty unlikely. Good luck!
Thought I remember seeing something that party hunting during gun season is done for Non-Residents beginning this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Seems like there is a new law in Iowa that has some fuzzy language that pretty much made cell cameras illegal to use. Can't leave anything on public land overnight either I guess. Not sure why they pass these laws that use vague language, but I always default to, it's so the GO can write tickets to folks who don't know or don't understand laws on the books. I haven't read the law btw. Just saw a video about it. I could be way off.
Some of these laws are probably due to cell cams being stolen and the CO's are tired of investigating. That being said, I doubt CO's will enforce many cell or even trail cam laws.[/QUOTE]
We posted it on our Trophy Bucks of Iowa facebook page. I believe that is correct. Basically cutting out the loop hole for someone to buy a doe tag and end up killing a buck on someone else’s buck tag in their “party.” I might be a little of but that’s how I understood it. Can anyone elaborate on this? edit, just talked to my buddy from IA. He said no cells on public or private. A lot of guys are dropping leases, no party hunting anymore. The loophole is closed, IA is losing a lot of revenue. I’m sure they’ll make up for it on residents somewhere now, it’s all money driven that’s for sure.
