I'm Craig, 34 married living in SW Minnesota. I manage 1500 acres of native, reconstructed and remnant prairie as well as a herd of about 100 bison for the state of Minnesota. We've recently began doing some genetics research with the bison which has revealed lots of interesting information. Although bison aren't threatened or endangered, bison without the influence of cattle genetics are rare...interesting work. I used to duck hunt alot but something had to give so now my priorities are elk and deer bowhunting and pheasant hunting in the fall, turkey hunting in the spring and bass fishing in the summer. Being from MN and not having an interest in walleyes make me an outcast! No kids so the wife and I try to travel a little bit. She's good to me and knows no trips will ever be scheduled from Spetember to December! Preacher Tony still believes me to be African American and my dog drinks heavily when she can't be hunting.

I live in bucks county. That's where that one was shot and where I do most of my hunting. I also hunt some in Montgomery county and do some rifle hunting in potter county too.

Nice. I grew up in Horsham and hunting Ottsville, Upper Makefield and Buckingham. I miss the hunting down there.

small world, I'm literally two minutes from Ottsville. I also know some people that hunt buckingham and they shoot some monster buck. It's a pretty good area for deer.

Yeah for sure. I still hunt Ottsville sometimes but its not the best property. Pretty much all horse pasture with very little stand options so not to many reasons for the deer to come out there. If I still lived down there I would start a small foodplot and maybe some ground blinds. But since its 3 hours away its hard for me to justify that currently lol. Def a small world though, and great buck again. Upper Makefield was my favorite, it was a bad day if you didnt see 25 deer in an afternoon. 50 deer was not uncommon. It was unreal. Now 3 deer is a good day here lol.

Thanks man. Yeah unfortunately I don't have any experience with upper makefeild, but by the way you describe it, it sounds awesome. I see your in Bradford county now. I've got some friends that hunt up there and from what I've seen, the area produces some big guys.

Haha you'll have your day! It took me a while to put down a wall hanger, but thankfully it happened this year.
I had this guy at 30 yards early in the season, but couldnt draw due to him being with 6 other nice buck(i was in disbelief) and one of them looking right at me.

Wow yeah its so good down there! Im guessing you hunt private land right? I never hunted the public land. Im sure if you are close to the border and early in the season its not bad. Once gun seasons start to open though I keep far away. I fished a tournament opening day of duck or goose a few years ago on Nockamixon and thought I was going to die. And Ive drove down around during the opening of deer firearm, roads look like parking lots.

I hunt all private. I have access to about 110 acres between the two main places I hunt. Both properties are surrounded by even more private land, so even when gun season hits, I really don't see the effects much. Nockamixon is terrible during gun season though. It's like a war zone... I would never even try hunting there.

I know this is a semi-old thread, but here goes.
My name is Tim, I am 30 from Chippewa Falls, WI, have a boy age 6, and a girl age 6 months and a wonderful wife. I joined the site in late 2012, and don't post often because I am very new at bowhunting. I will start bow hunting, and I gun hunt for deer, I duck and goose hunt, and I do a lot of fishing. I spend most of my time with my wife and kids. I absolutely love baseball, and cheer for the Brewers. One thing I am known for, hmm, I tried out for the Milwaukee Brewers once.
