Hey guys I'm new to bow hunting and this is going to be my first season. I live here in Kansas and am wondering some advice for some do's and don'ts of hunting here in Kansas. Also wondering what kind of equipment I'm going to need other than bow stuff such as camo, calls, stands, blinds, etc.

LOL that is an awful lot to cover in one thread.. I'd suggest cruising around this site, search any specific topics you are looking for, you will find a ton of great info. Then you will likely find your questions will become much more specific.

Welcome to the site and the sport!!!

    That's easy!
    You need: (take notes)
    1. Good habitat (optional as long as you share neighboring deer on good habitat)
    2. Lots of deer (just the right one will do)
    3. Decent archery equipment
    4. Shot proficiency
    5. A way to process your deer
    6. A freezer (if you plan on storing and eating the meat)

See, I have a theory that we make it all too complicated....

If you want to shoot some big deer you got to hunt around the big arkansas river!! There are some big bucks that cruise through there pretty often. Just get a good set up. And If you haave a proeprty try to establish the bedding area and then do not set a stand in there bedding area. You want them to feel safe in that area. try to find the main trails leading from the bedding area to a food source and set up on one of those.

You have to send a letter to the Kansas wind commissioner officially requesting no wind on the days you need to work (or play) outside.
