Every single morning I wake up from 4:30 to 4:40. Always in that 10 minute time frame. And ALWAYS without an alarm clock. Really kind of weird IMO that I never need an alarm clock and wake up at the same exact time everyday. How the heck does my brain and body know it's 4:30? What's even more strange is the time has been 4:38 for at least the last 7 days. I roll over and look at the clock and yep 4:38 again. Groundhog day kind of creepy stuff. Even during hunting season or other situations where I may have to wake up earlier I never need an alarm clock. Or if I want to sleep in later I dont' need one. It's like I program myself before I go to sleep for what time I want to get up. 90% of my life it's around that 4:30 time. I can't even remember the last time I used an alarm clock. Any other internal alarm clock people out there?

    I'm the exact same way.

I'm also never late for anything. If I think "I need to get up 20min. earlier, tomorrow".....I wake up 30min. earlier.

My wife sets the alarm, every night. I'm sitting up, having coffee, when it goes off. I can't remember the last time I set one.

**Disclaimer** -- When I'm on the road, I always get a wake-up call. Something about hotels....lol.

Yep, 5:15 am every morning. If it's the weekend I just roll over and go back to sleep, but I always wake up at 5:15

Learned about it yesterday in general ecology. Its all about photo-period and how much sunlight your exposed to. We learned about some guy who got perch to spawn four times a year instead of the usual once by exposing them to certain amounts of artificial light by messing with their photoperiods. its pretty cool stuff.

And my artificial clock is set to 11am.... its a gift and a curse

I wake up whenever, go to bed whenever. (working from home rocks!)

I'm a night owl, I can stay up all night easier than I can get up early.

When I do have to set an alarm, I have a weird tendency to wake up a couple minutes before it goes off. Doesn't matter if it's 3am or 10 am.

yup mine goes off just prior to 5 am almost daily...every now and then its 3 to 3:30 am and that really stinks because I can never get back to sleep. My internal clock even adjusts fairly quickly to daylight savings time.

Haha, indeed. My internal clock shuts itself off every now and then.

Believe me that theory has been tested plenty of times. The clock still works. The body doesn't the next day, but the clock does.

5 to 5:15 my internal alarm buzzes. I'm def a morning person. I enjoy the early morning hours and a good cup of beans. I hate to sleep anyways. I'll get plenty of sleep when I'm 6ft under. I believe it has do with hunting season and condition yourself getting up early to get in the woods.

an internal what?? i can only wake up for things i want to do... my professors and my advisor in college told me not to take 8 am classes and would actually direct me in my schedule becuase they knew i would be at least 10 mintues last and be miserable while i was there...

if i was on my own it would be different but if i didnt lives with my folks and work at the same school as my mom i would be late

the funny thing is i hate to be late and hate people when they are late... but when i want to get up at 330 to hunt im up and ready in 10 minutes all bright eyed and bushy tailed.

all this talk just got me to thinking of how opposite my wife and I are when it comes to mornings..she absolutely hates getting up early.. I love it, I get up in the summers when I am off from teaching at daylight quite often and just watch the sun come up, the elk and deer and turkeys move around the place.. etc.. I love it ..super quiet, kids are in bed and life is good with a hot cup of coffee.. one of my favorite things about my summers..

I realized recently that I'm not 20 something anymore when all of a sudden I try to sleep in and can't. Sleeping in now is 7 am.

Same here. I get up a lot earlier than my GF but she is getting better. I am a morning person. Nothing better. It's nice to be there when the world wakes up. I can't wait for retirement! I get up year round at 4:00 AM. The latest I've slept was 6:00 AM on a weekend. When I retire I'll probably sleep on a split shift pattern. Something like, 8:00 PM 'til Midnight and again from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. For some reason I like to be up from Midnight until around 10:00 AM.

Fear not... I'm on the same schedule... EXCEPT... I'm older and my clock is running slower now days. The alarm doesn't go off until 5:45 or somewhere in there. LOL Last night it went off kind of weird... 4:20, 4:45, 5:20 etc. I finally gave up and got up at 6. But I got to tell you... that 4:30 power nap today did the trick.
