Warning, skip this video if you have zero interest in social media and/or marketing. I'm not trying to pass off this guy's opinion's as gospel, but it makes sense, and reaffirms some of the "flattening" in Facebook usage in certain demographics within the last year. Anyways, it's interesting and worth watching if you have any interest in the subject.
So this probably explains why the newsfeed on my phone won't stay at Most Recent. When I do click most recent it shows very few posts, but later posts show up that "should" have been there before. It's annoying really and has caused me to use FB less and less. I could see myself not using FB anymore in the near future and I don't believe I'm alone.
Ive noticed this too. I have cut back from using FB on my phone for this very reason, I could never figure out why it was doing that before. Its just annoying, I see stuff from 5 hours ago that Ive already seen an I don't want to. Just give me the most recent like you said.
Good video Matt. I think FB will either greatly decline or vastly change how it's used in the next few years.
This is a real struggle for myself. I work at the Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery and run our Facebook page. I feel like our content is better than 90% of what other "business" Facebook pages are cranking out, but we can't compete for views because we don't "boost" our posts. The views have definitely gone down since Facebook has changed how this works. We have about 300 followers on our page, but only about 120 of them see what we post.
It is what it is. Seems like its already been replaced by twitter in the media. I know one thing for sure, facebook is the end of the line for me. I dont feel the need to get a twitter or whatever the next big thing is.
Twitter is much better than Facebook. I use Facebook to let family/friends/coworkers know what I have been upto. Twitter is much more funny, much more up to date, and much quicker/easier to navigate because of it's simplicity.
