This list is CCW permit holders, right? Wonder how many people who own guns don't actually have the permit? Be a nice surprise for a would be home invader. "Hey, you weren't on the list!" :D Just another prime example of lawful citizens getting screwed while the criminals capitalize. I love America!
If there is one thing that New Jersey and Illinois have in common, it's an anti-constitutional administration, hell bent on regulating every aspect of the citizens lives. Big thumbs DOWN. If NJ tried this, gun owners would give the State hell, literally, but, we've been pushed so far that it's bound to happen eventually.
Finch: In NC, I have to obtain permits to purchase a handgun from a dealer. I also have to pass a background check to purchase a long gun. I'm assuming these are the lists they're after. CCW would be a different animal (but, I assume, part of such a list, also).
NO. There is no concealed carry allowed in IL. nada. zilch. This is for the list of people who have paid for an ID card issued by the Illinois State Police. This FOID card is required to own, purchase or simply possess any firearm, pellet guns (over 750-ish fps) and or ammuntion. Possession of even a single round of ammo without this FOID is a felony. Having a firearm in your vehicle without a valid FOID card carries a mandatory jail sentence. You don't have to own a gun to have a FOID card but you'd better damn well have the card if you even think about picking up a gun or ammo. Illinois is awesome.
