Stumbled across this a few weeks back, and I'm curious to see the trailer released tomorrow. Certainly has my interest, and seeing as it looks as though he did some filming with a RED camera, it should have some pretty good quality. http://www.theshortseason.com/comingsoon/ http://www.thewilltohunt.com/2011/12/jeff-simpson-fencepost-films-new.html
I'm sure it will be high quality. I enjoyed heartland bowhunter when he was on there. What is a RED camera?
A digital video camera that records to a 35mm sized proprietary sensor that allows interchangeable lenses (much like a DSLR). Records in RAW like a DSLR so footage can be manipulated during post-processing the same you would during live shooting. Basically, a very expensive camera:D
This project is sure to get some attention and push the envelope in hunting entertainment! Thanks for linking to The Will to Hunt!
As others have said I would only expect the best from FPF. I always look forward to seeing their work.
I hope it doesn't turn into something like the "hunting" shows we've been seeing from Sportman's channel...
Too early to tell, but if I was a betting man, I doubt it will be anything like many of the shows today. In fact, Jeff is responsible for the "style" a lot of shows are trying to replicate nowadays.
That....was amazing. Kind of got my desire to film some hunts in this late season back. Now if only i had the time...
I agree when he started Heartland Bowhunter he raised the bar for hunting TV and a lot of shows followed suit, this will change the way people consume hunting video by offering it solely online in short film format. It's another game changer if you ask me and of course the quality is/will be off the charts!
I agree completely Heartland bowhunter really did step it up a notch. I'm sick of seeing tv shows loaded with "experts" hunting in ranches, just film the hunt and let me live vicariously through the hunter. This series looks like it could be just as good if not better than HB. This type of filming gets me going big time. It's an art!, just wish I could afford the equipment to do that stuff
You aren't kidding! Just a decent lens is way outta my reach for still images much less the gear they are rocking to put it together.
