    I listed my credentials :D

Bradshaw won 4 Super Bowls i believe, Favre only 1

Favre runs laps around Bradshaw when it comes to PASSING the football, stats, skill...

    My rankings were made accordingly

    Most definitely :D

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXua2sl4TsU

That was when Favre was without a doubt the most dominate passer in the NFL (13 years ago LOL)

(watch that video and you will know why Brett Favre gets all the media coverage he does to this day)

I'd put Aikman in the top 20. I think he falls somewhere around 15 or so.

My all time QB list would look something like this...

    1. Montana
    2. Marino
    3. Elway
    4. Griese
    5. Favre
    6. Starr
    7. Namath
    8. Unitas
    9. Staubach
    10. Brady
    11. Manning
    12. Bradshaw
    13. Graham
    14. Young
    15. Aikman

IMO you have Griese, Namath, and Staubach way to high. Otherwise everyone else is in the running give or take.;)

I would put griese on the top 15, but probably in the neighborhood of 11-12... the rest looks about right and pretty close to what I would have...

I'd put Jim Kelly over Namath. Joe had a career losing record and couldn't run. Media darling, sure, but overrated as hell.

If he looks good it means he is rested AND still great. If he's bad then it means nothing. :D

j/k Preseason is just glorified practice. I don't usually even watch.

    IMO.. and it's just that.

The QB position is about ALOT more than just stats.. it's those few on-field generals who impress the hell out of me. Those guys who can go out and really LEAD a team.. not just manage the game.

The modern QB has taken on more of that role.. game managers.. because that's the way the game is played now.

For these reasons.. I think Peyton is WAY over-rated.. so is Romo.. and a bunch more of these wanna-be's. Their not generals. They don't inspire. Their teams don't bleed for them.

The only QB today who should fit your bill as elite young Siman is Brady. I hate the man personally.. because of the team he plays for.. but HE is a general.. so cool and in control of that pocket that his game is above everyone else's. He LEADS that team almost entirely on their faith in him. That's a QB. That's a Unitas.

Favre is old school.. he leads like those old school QB's once did.. and that's what makes him unique.. and fun to watch. He IS a great QB.. all-time HAS to be in the top 5.. maybe number 1..

As far as the rest of the NFL QB's who play right now.. with exception to Brady and Favre.. they all are mediocre.. or just above average. A bunch of clock-managers.

Maybe I'm a little harsh.. but I grew up watching some GREAT QB's.. guys like Marino.. Elway.. Montana.. Young.. even Jim Kelly.. these guys were leaders who their team bled for.

Man they were fun to watch.

I cannot believe Elway stays #3 or below on oyur lists. He was as mobile as any QB ever, and he took 4, count em 4 bad teams to super bowls. He finally got a running game late in his career and got 2 rings. I remember Tom Jackson saying he remembers Denver putting all theri faith in a young kid (Elway) and everyone realizing they were rebuilding. He says even though his career was about to end and rebuilding sounded horrible, he bought in just to play along side this kid. He actually got to a super bowl because of Elway.

I don't watch much of Rivers.. so I really can't say how he is.

But if he's a field general.. those are the real QB's.. and I'll pay attention.

The league today consists of to many skirts behind center..

Funny we just had this conversation at work as they are drafting for their fantasy league today. Rivers is a VERY VERY good NFL qb, but he says and does some of the dumbest things and I think that is why he does not get the respect he deserves. Sometimes he acts a little Ryan Leafish and that makes him look the fool. Today is the first time I really gave him his due, even though I though he was remarkable at NC State.

I didn't watch the game, but I would bet from those stat lines Favre started played one maybe two series and then Jackson played most of the way against 2nd string defense. Personally opinion is preseason games are pointless for starters.
