Back in early 2011 a liberal Dane county Teacher of children became unhinged during Wisconsin labor union legislative actions and became a violent terrorist. The Democrat sought out Republican legislators and their spouses and children and sent them death and bomb threats. She flipped out because legislation would cause her to contribute more to her own healthcare insurance. Here is what she sent in one email to elected officials:

” Subject: Atten: Death threat!!!! Bomb!!!!

Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your familes will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks.

Please explain to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit that you have created. I hope you have a good time in hell. Read below for more information on possible scenarios in which you will die.

WE want to make this perfectly clear. Because of your actions today and in the past couple of weeks I and the group of people that are working with me have decided that we’ve had enough. We feel that you and the people that support the dictator have to die. We have tried many other ways of dealing with your corruption but you have taken things too far and we will not stand for it any longer. So, this is how it’s going to happen:

I as well as many others know where you and your family live, it’s a matter of public records. We have all planned to assult you by arriving at your house and putting a nice little bullet in your head. However, we decided that we wouldn’t leave it there. We also have decided that this may not be enough to send the message to you since you are so “high” on Koch and have decided that you are
now going to single handedly make this a dictatorship instead of a demorcratic process. So we have also built several bombs that we have placed in various locations around the areas in which we know that you frequent. This includes, your house, your car, the state capitol, and well I won’t tell you all of them because that’s just no fun.

Since we know that you are not smart enough to figure out why this is happening to you we have decided to make it perfectly clear to you. If you and your goonies feel that it’s necessary to strip the rights of 300,000 people and ruin their lives, making them unable to feed, clothe, and provide the necessities to their families and themselves then We Will “get rid of” (in which I mean kill) you.

Please understand that this does not include the heroic Rep. Senator that risked everything to go aganist what you and your goonies wanted him to do. We feel that it’s worth our lives to do this, because we would be saving the lives of 300,000 people. Please make your peace with God as soon as possible and say goodbye to your loved ones we will not wait any longer. YOU WILL DIE!!!!”

Even though she used a bogus name and account she was caught. She was arrested and charged with a host of crimes and since her threats were against elected officials they carried additional charges.

Because she is a liberal democrat in liberal Dane county and was threatening to kill Republicans, the liberal attorney General decided her case was not to be handled by Eric Holder's United States Attorney's Office. Rather the matter was disposed of through the increasingly notorious Dane County's District's Attorney's Office. Windels was allowed to plead guilty to making a bomb threat and was placed in a first-offenders program. When Windels completes the program, the charge will be dismissed and her record will clean!

    NOW

In 2012, a 61 year old Republican made 100 terrorizing phone calls to a democrat party headquarters threatening bombing and shootings from Jan to May during the peak of the WI governor’s recall election. While he didn’t threat elected officials his threats were certainly has dangerous and terrorizing and illegal. This week the same Dane county Attorney General (on the heels of the Wendals case above) had to make a call on how to handle the case. Since this was a Republican threatening Democrats the case was handed over to the Feds. Federal prosecutors charged 61-year-old William Diederich in the complaint. The grand jury indictment returned on Wednesday formalized the charge. He is awaiting his future which looks pretty grim (and rightfully so since he was a domestic terrorist)

Why the inconsistency in charging two very similar cases?? Easy, Democrat party affiliation and liberal political bias that sends the message that if you are a dem terrorizing Republicans, the Dem DA will look the other way but if you are a ReEpbulican terrorizing dems, the full weight of the law will get heaped upon you. Equal justice, pffft.

Both ought to be spending decades in Federal prison.

I really cant tell why, with the bias discription of both the crimes you gave. Hell maybe the democrat school teacher just acted right, plea bargained and got a lighter sentence, where the republican whos brain no doubt contaminated with years of conservative radio told them to suck an egg and death to all democrats. Who Knows!

Lets talk about Cool aid fletch.
I just recently spent 2 years in Kansas where we had this far right freak job on the radio who I called Tokyo Rose. She sounded just like a part in one of them German death camp movies where you could hear them talking on the loud speakers in the backround.
At just less than a yell she goes on daily with lies and the most twisted up propaganda one could imagine. Nothing to do with reality, never a plan, never an idea for change, just mindless, baseless, crap, spun up for the ignorants consumption.
To top it off 90% of this countrys political radio is conservative.
    There is your Cool Aid!

    More Cool Aid.
Lets take a look at rancids post on the First Lady.
Proven a Lie back in Oct of last year when the River School ran a disclamer on their web site stating it was not involved in any translation services of the video.
Yet rancid posted it, Did he know it was just a bunch of horse crap when he posted it or just ignorant of the facts.
    Cool Aid!

How bout Afflicteds post buy Alan Caruba, wounder if he knew it was never in the paper as claimed. An opinion piece on the president taken off Carubas biased web site.
Carubas founder of 2 PR firms and works mostly for Republican think tanks, Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Insecticide Companies.
One of his PR firms is self explained as a clearing house for information on scare campaigning designed to influence public policy and opnion.
    More Cool Aid!
I could go on, but I think you get the picture.

Yes, this story is getting some buzz because of the bias and lack of equity. Here are some comments from Jeff Wagner. He is a former federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney's Office for eleven and a half years where he was Head of the Organized Crime Task Force.

If it wasn't so serious and outrageous, it would be laughable. But it is ... so it's not.

On Wednesday, a Federal grand jury based in Madison returned an indictment against a guy named William Diedrich. Diedrich allegedly made over 100 threatening phone calls to state Democratic Party Headquarters between January and May. During his calls, Diedrich supposedly threatened to blow up the Democrats' office and shoot Democrats walking around the state Capitol square.

Let me be clear. I have no problem with these charges. This is serious criminal misconduct and if guilty, Diedrich deserves to be punished severely.

    But what about Katherine Windels?

In March of 2011, Katherine Windels (using a false name) e-mailed death threats to then-Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald and various other Republican legislators. Among other things, the e-mails said that bombs had been planted in various locations and that the legislators (and their families) were going to be killed.

In contrast to the Diedrich case, the Windels case was not handled by Eric Holder's United States Attorney's Office. Rather the matter was disposed of through the increasingly notorious Dane County's District's Attorney's Office.

For those keeping score, Windels was allowed to plead guilty to making a bomb threat and was placed in a first-offenders program. In other words, if Windels completes the program, the charge will be dismissed and her record will remain clean!

Do you think the U.S. Attorney's Office will dispose of the Diedrich case in the same fashion? I don't know for sure - but I wouldn't hold my breath.

There is always a lot of prosecutorial discretion that goes into deciding whether federal or state prosecutors should handle a particular case. In this regard, Diedrich's conduct is serious and certainly deserves Federal prosecution. However, I think you can say exactly the same thing about the Windels case.

There's nothing that says one case can't go Federal while a similar case goes through State courts. Still, it appears that the only real difference between these two matters is that Diedrich threatened Democrats - and thereby landed in Federal court. On the other hand, Windels threatened Republicans - and she got a wrist slap in State court.

Call it Dane County's not-so-subtle double standard on death threats.
