Yeah, or all I'm willing to kill time BSing about on a forum about bowhunting. Has PT chimed in? I believe he feels the same way.
Common ground we stand on yet again. These discussions make for good topics at least (even if the original debaters had ulterior motives).
How many here would be willing to consider that maybe scientists from another planet used Earth as a biological laboratory, on which they created all life using DNA, and created man in their own image?
I'm curious as to why this "debate" only involves science versus Christians. It seems to me that there are a fairly substantial number of religious beliefs in the world. While I was in Korea, I found people who were quite comfortable practicing both Christianity and Buddhism. I recall discussing this with one lady who told me that she prays to both and if Jesus doesn't hear, then Buddha will. Now THAT'S faith. There are even Christian denominations who have no problem with evolution and a universe billions of years old. In fact, they teach evolution in the science classes at the Catholic school where we will likely send our daughters. My wife grew up Shinto and she and her mother have no problem with these scientific findings. Is there a God? As far as we're concerned, of course there is. As my wife would say, "something has always been here." It may surprise some Christians, but the conflict between science and the Bible is only in the minds of some Christians. Scientists do not engage in work to disprove the Bible. It's well known that there is no support for those stories about creation, flood, etc., so there is no discussion about them. The Bible was not issued 3,000 years ago. What it does is set down in writing the results of discoveries about morals, and ethics, along with stories attempting to explain the basis for these various rules. What you find in the Bible and in the codes of other religions is the end result of the intellectual evolution of the human race over many thousands of years.
Have you for a second researched all the christian findings by scientists for and against the Creation idea which backs or in many eyes supports the time tables and "stories" in the bible? They are present but often overlooked.
Well, yes, now that you ask. I have and if you know the facts, they're all nonsense giving people who so desperately want to believe some fantasy to grasp. The marine fossils up in those mountains are not proof of Noah's flood. They are there because those mountains were once at the bottom of an ocean and rose up over billions of years. My wife and I believe that a Creator is responsible for the universe and life. But it didn't happen as described in the Bible. All the evidence says otherwise. I'll ask again, why focus your objections on scientific research? Why not take a look at other cultures? Here's a link to some Korean creation mythology. Korean Creation Myth Here's a link to the Shinto creation myth. Shinto What do you think? How do they compare to the science? Quite different right? On the other hand, do you see some real similarities to the Bible stories as to the general theme? I'm not sure how many people in Korea or Japan believe those stories anymore. My impression was that those folks are very into education.
I am not getting into the debate... But there is one thing I have always wonderd, but have not researched. Along the lines of evolution... I know it can take hundreds, if not thousands of years for evolution to work, but why are there reports of humans evolving from monkeys but we are no longer seeing it happen? Shouldn't we see at least some form of it happening? It may be a completley dumb and ignorant question, but I have honestly never researched it. Anyone care to elaborate?
Whoops - Left that one out! Meant to say hundreds, thousands, or millions*** Once the dinosaurs became extinct... What happened? We must have evolved from the smallest mammal rodents that survived?
As Hooker said, try millions of years. In addition, humans did not evolve from monkeys. We and our primate/monkey cousins all evolved from a common ancestor. Statements like yours reveal that the writer, while willing to criticize evolution, knows nothing about even the most basic concepts.
The Bible - Book of Books, was written by chosen profits inspired through the power of the Holy Spirit. Only divinity would allow man to possess this ability. The unread lack faith, the well read lack faith, faith comes from hearing and hearing from the word of God. He who has ears let him hear, he who has eyes let him see. Truth here is like this - There will be Lost Souls - This is already Known.
I was simply asking for an explanation on the topic. No criticism of evolution at all. Thanks for the irrelevant post though!

The typical Creationist response. Inaccuracies, speculation, and opinion. Why not compare your myths with those of other religions? Why attack science which has nothing to do with religion? Do you deny that there are Christian denominations which accept evolution as the proper explanation for the diversity of species? Are you going to tell me I'm wrong when I say the Catholic school we are considering sending our daughters teaches evolution? I've been to grad school in physiology. My wife is a Ph.D. candidate in biology. Believe me, researchers do not care about the Bible. It's already been proven to be wrong. Our species has been around for up to a couple hundred thousand years. During that time, we evolve physically and socially. About three or four thousand years ago, we developed written language and started writing stuff down. That included the Bible. Some of the stuff in the Bible is well worth attending to. Some of it is not.
Careful who you call a Creationist. You have not seen an Attack from me. Do not ask me to answer you with my views. Do your own hunting.
