Cougar: What they are showing and saying although controversial, pretty much true. In Addition to the disease, It some what cheapens trophy's from free range deer. How many of these deer have gotten loose in the wild and spread their gene's. Or how many pen raised does have been bred by these frankenbucks and turned loose. Just a couple ways to get ginormous deer on ones property.
I know that in Indiana alone deer hunting preserves are under fire. Perhaps in the near future outlawed.
Some of it is genetics but much of it with these frankenbucks is simply the fact that they never want for anything and never have the stress and pressures wild deer have to endure. Similar to bringing up a deep sea fish and having it explode, farm deer have rediculous amounts of protein, mineral and lazy lifestyle so all the limiting factors are gone. I've long thought that the deer farms were probably the source of many of the widespread diseases deer suffer, CWD most specifically.
The reporter in the article is a hunting friend of mine. It is great to see his story getting so much attention. I will say that it was very interesting to read and the videos were quite eye-opening. I hope that it leads to some type of action in regard to the high-fence operations, but it seems the states aren't sure how to handle them and the operators have their hands in the pockets of politicians.
