When I first started watching this video I thought maybe the buck was spooked by a hunter going to his stand because of the time frame. But I watched it all the way through and found out different. Blessings........Pastorjim
You are right. On this last camera check I had almost as many yotes as anything else. Blessings.........Pastorjim Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Have any of you guys ever run into any on your way out to the stand/blind? Its not legal to carry in MA during bow season and that always gives me a bit of the jitters going out alone without anything but my bow and some knives while its still real dark
no, but when I was about 14, I was in Indiana with my bow in a brushed in ground blind just on the downside of a ravine when a turkey tore by me from over the top of the ravine at full speed, with either a coy-dog or a wild dog (he was almost all black and bigger than any coyote I ever saw before or since) right on the turkeys butt. The coy-dog had to change direction or he would have ran into my blind, which was open on that side. Scared the crap out of me. I didn't want to hunt on the ground for a long time after that. Still don't like to, to be honest.
Yes....they ran away.....how many coyote attacks hunter stories have you heard.....im guessing not many if any....not something im worried about Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Personally, me neither now as I'm a pretty big guy, but stories like this Coyotes kill Toronto singer in Cape Breton - Nova Scotia - CBC News could make me leery leaving my kid alone in the woods on the ground.
Can't say I've ever heard any stories of it happening but then again this is the first time I've asked so I wouldn't know even if it was common. Everyone seems to say the same thing though.
I ran into one on my way to check cams just this past Saturday. They'll usually just run off. The only time I would be worried is if they were in a large pack. Blessings.........Pastorjim
This reminds me. One time while hunting the Edmonton Bow Zone I was on my way out of the bush at last light, traveling along a remote section of RR tracks, when I started hearing coyotes. First is was just one, then 2, then 3, and before I know it there's a whole bunch of them howling. All around me!! I WAS worried!! I just kept walking at a good pace back to my pick up spot. When I mentioned about all of the yotes that were around me to my guide, he told me "no worries", they know you're a human and won't mess with you. I still felt vulnerable!!!!!
