i glued inserts in on a dozen FMJ arrows. After all was said and done i have 7 that the inserts are in to deep any wont catch any threads on BH/FP's.. anyway to pull the insert back out?? I thought about a small bolt and heat and try to pull it out but will the heat effect the intergerity of the arrow? Sure dont wanna hafta scrap 7 arrows for the price they cost

After you run the bolt in make sure that you have about 1/2" of extra bolt sticking out. Clamp the end of the bolt in a vice and apply heat to the bolt (NOT THE ARROW) while at the same time pulling tension on the arrow. The heat will conduct through the bolt into the insert. When the glue gets to the point I the heat is breaking it down the insert should pull out. Heating the arrow will degrade the carbon part of you FMJ and the arrow will be ruined.

I had some not in far enough. I put a fp about 3 turns from in. I took a hair dryer, heated the tip/shaft and pushed them in. I had to "catch" the heat with a towel and put the tip on the side of a sturdy bench and push hard. Maybe a threaded rod in a vise and pull. DON'T heat the tip/rod with a small torch. I melted a carbon shaft.
