Well I haven't shot a bow since Dec. Last shot was on a deer and it was painful. But I get him. Currently in a sling for 6 weeks typing with my left hand. PT for 12weeks. Ignored all the warning signs. Couldn't raise my hand over my head. Finally had surgery on my rotator cuff. It will be 2013 before i can even think of shooting my trad bows. It will be 2013 before I can ride my motorcycle.

Bottom line, take care of your shoulders. I shot 65-70lb bows for 3-4 years. I am sticking to 50lbs or less from here on out. And no more practicing for 100 arrows at a time. This surgery was much more painful than I thought. Going to run me over 700 dollars in copays alone for PT, and diagnostics. Thank goodness i run a team of guys that can do my typing and manual work. I miss archery.

Sorry to hear that, Mark. Hope you heal faster than possible and can get out this deer season sometime. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that. I have been preaching this for years to anyone that would listen. Unfortunately most don't and they have to learn the hard way.

I was wondering what happened to you. Just take care of that shoulder...that way there'll be plenty of bowhunting in your future.

Sorry to hear that man! I was just thinking about this stuff the other day when i broke out the Widow for the first time in a long time. I could barely reach my draw length and totally forgot what holding 62# felt like! YIKES.
Need to ease back into that one.
    Heal up brother!

Dad gone Matt/PA, blast from the past. Not sure if you remember, I bought that 64lb widow and you said "Man thats alot of weight. Thats the bow that hurt me. Still have it.

I don't think its heaviest but more i would shoot 3 times a week hundreds of shots. My shoulder would ache. I should have listened to my shoulder.

    Glad to see your shooting

Sorry to hear that Mark. I've got tendon Issue's going on In both of my elbows now. One elbow has Tennis elbow and the other has golfers elbow, never played either sport. lol! Anyhow last winter In the final month of the deer season It started aching again. I could hardly draw my recurve back. It's been hurting on and off the last 3 years. Sucks!!! It don't matter the draw weight for me either, It hurts no matter what. Hopefully I can tough It out for many years but I see myself going to a compound sooner then later. Bummes me out too.

Best of luck with your recovery Mark. Take care.
