My daughter and her hubby are moving up to Sturgeon Bay this weekend for new jobs, and they have insisted that I come up this summer for a little small mouth fishing after they get settled in.

Here's the deal- I do a lot of small mouth fishing in Tn. and Ky. I know when to go and what to use there , but Lake Michigan , Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay are a totally different deal.

Will my 17 ft bass tracker be big enough to fish any of these waters?

When would be the optimum time to go. I was thinking early June.

What baits work best. (I am thinking grubs/swimbaits/gitzits, spinners and cranks.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest you look up local bait shops and ask them when the time get closer. They are very friendly and will help you a lot. I don't fish Green Bay very much so I have nothing to offer you. Your boat size is dependent on the weather. Big lakes change very fast so be careful. I live about 60 miles south of there so if you want to travel, look me up. In the mean time look up lake-link.com. Lots of info on there.
