I was at Wally World the other day and noticed they had FLIP video cameras for $59.00. The camera has 4 gig of memory and can record up to one hour. I have a GL1 for videotaping others hunting but thought for $59, I'd try one. Yesterday, I video'd myself cutting down 2 dead trees and even at full screen, I am amazed how clear the video came out. The camera is light, there are no tapes to change and it runs off of 2 AA batteries. Hooks up to computer for video download. For someone with limited income, this would be a very cheap way to video your own hunts. Downsides: 1. Windows Movie Maker 2.6 will not recognize the MP4 format so you have to download a converter; and 2. This walmart only had them in white, which means you need to buy tape or earthtone markers to camouflage the camcorder.
Sounds like a great deal. Any decent way to mount it to a tree for a second camera angle while in a tree stand?
I made a hat mount, an atv mount and a stand mount yesterday with nylon 1/4" bolts, nuts, washers and velcro yesterday. Nothing to it.
