It took a little while guys, but I finally put my first whitetail down this season. Much thanks to the little five pointer who chased her right to me at about 18 yards.

I think I know why he was on her too, she was STINKY! Her tarsal glands were nice and ripe. Doubled lunged and went 30 yards. Easy track job to say the least.

Congrats to everyone who has taken animals this season so far. I've been hunting hard and been away for a little bit.

    Congrats!

I'd cut those glands off her and pin them to your boots for the next couple days :tu:

Big doe! I don't know about pinning them to the boots, as I wouldn't want a buck trying to mount me, but I'd sure as heckfire tie em to a string and drag em behind me.

I sure did cut them out Fitz. I used them last night to no prevail, but I will have them the next couple hunts :tu:

I only weighed her on the hoof guys, but she was right at 160lbs. Big ole nanny is right!

Way to go man! There is something about the first deer of the year... It always seems to be ... "oh yeah, thats how it works... I love this stuff"

Just in time too ... The rut will be here, well NOW!

Congrats on the doe. If her tarsals were stained and stinky then she was definitely in heat!!
