So basically it's Indian Poaching? WTF?

A commission that oversees hunting and fishing rights of Lake Superior Chippewa approved plans on Wednesday that will allow tribal members to use lights to hunt deer on nontribal lands in northern Wisconsin starting next week.
The Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission issued a permit to allow the tribes to hunt for deer with lights - much like the Department of Natural Resources has allowed in the state's wolf hunting season this year.
The night hunting with the use of lights would begin on Monday - a day after the end of the traditional gun deer hunting season in Wisconsin.
In response, the DNR asked a federal judge in Madison to stop tribes from moving forward. DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp said her agency is worried about public safety for people living or driving near the night hunting.
She also said that, given the Thanksgiving holiday, the agency has little time to inform the public.
But a spokeswoman for the commission said it is allowing tribal members to carry out the same hunting practices as those who are hunting wolves this year.
Susan Erickson, a spokeswoman for the commission, said that tribal members will only turn on their lights when they have spotted a deer and have it in their sights.
"They are not going to be marching through the woods at night," Erickson said.

Interesting. Did these people who are "preserving their heritage" happen to know that their ancestors did NOT spotlight deer? Tribal laws are total bull**** through and through. They strong arm their way into everything.

    Disgusting.

Can Indians see at night? How are they suppose see the deer without spot lighting it? Also why do the Indians get to hunt at night it can't be tradition, they couldn't hunt at night back in the tee pee days. Don't make sense to me, better follow the money back.

That is so screwed up. The worst of it... they get to do it on "NON" tribal lands. That is such a crock of crap. The indians get away with anything they want and pay nothing to get all they do. We should have just gone ahead and taken them all out back in the day and we wouldn't have these 1/8 indians claiming they can speak with the animals and all that crap. They're mostly drunks with a casino. Why in the hell would any law maker think they needed to hunt at night with lights. I bet they can shoot from the vehicle too and not be arrested. Dumb ... just dumb.

White people are so much better than this. Who do these indians think they are? What if they wanted to run herds of deer over a cliff like their ancestors did? They should just use long bows and wooden arrows with stone broadheads like real indians. Just like indians to want to take the easy way to do things.

I think "hunter's moon" actually got its name from using it's light to night hunt. Spot lighting, though, is not tradition.
