The artifacts to be found in Florida are submerged have been for centuries. The pipe find is as cool as it gets, I would use it if I were you do a tobacco ceremony, do you know any natives?
Well, I guess my speculations are somewhat confirmed. I joined an arrowhead forum, posted it on there and posted it on a arrowhead/Indian artifact Facebook page and I'm getting the same answers; a pipe. But Sota, you're right..it doesn't get much, if any better.
That pipe is cool, I've never seen a real one...amazing find. You are holding not only something an indian crafted but that several sucked on. (I bet you never look at it the same after reading that, rofl.)
Can't tell if that's clay or actual stone...if stone, it may be the leg off a mortar/pestle type grinding stone. Bill
Megalodon. If you have Facebook, check out Gen 7 Outdoors - Gen 7 Outdoors post it on their page and see if they can help. If not, you can join the forum Arrowheadology and there are some super smart guys that should be able to tell you.
You got it. Here are the links to both: Facebook: Gen 7 Outdoors Arrowheadology: Arrowheads and Indian Artifacts ---unfortunately you have to wait until a mod reviews your post before it is visible...stupid if you ask me but whatever. However, they use pretty much the exact same forum format as BH.com so it will be easy to find. I have the same username (BigPhil_H) and the post should appear shortly.
Thanks for the website direction. Never been there before and you're right. Signed up, activated but still can't post!
Found my first flake or piece of a point. I posted it to one of the facebook pages and most said just a flake. This is what I pictured it being
Good "minds eye" but it doesn't have flaking marks on any other sides to make one believe that it was anything other than a flake from something else they were making. Keep on looking. You'll find some and then the addiction begins!!!!!!!
Well, my girlfriend thought that it would be a good idea to come over and wake me up at 10am this morning after I worked third shift last night saying that she wanted to go and look arrow heads. Lone behold, she turned up this gem in the first pic. A few minutes later, I found the broke one in the second. Not bad for about 30 minutes.
