Ive tried looking for independent testing of all the gear these companies put out, but cannot find any. I find that surprising. I mean it would be very easy to test and show how much difference this and that made. I would find the results to be very interesting. Heck Id even like too see bow testing.

Have any of you found anything? Thoughts?

Cool! Thanks man. Ill take a look. Id really like to see tests with a decibel meter. That would be the no BS test, not the it "sounds" quieter test.

I don't ever recall seeing any of those kinds of tests. Have you taken Bootlegger's suggestion and looked on youtube?

Well I have been searching for some time now and nothing. I believe I will not find anything reliable because people do not want to hurt their sponsors or sales. Which is understandable, gotta keep paying the bills. Id say most of it is bunk probably. Whatever effect they do have it is probably minimal. Im sure it all helps a little, but probably not worth the premium price paid for a lot of the stuff. My opinion is the engineering of the bow, and the arrow weight matter the most. Next would be the stabilizer I would think. From my readings, rubber type materials are best for vibration and sound dampening, hence my choice in stabilizer. Ive also read that sand is very good. Why not make a sand filled one? Im not sure why so many manufacturers are choosing metals for this. I would love to see their "testing results". Odds are they just design something that looks cool knowing people will buy if base off that fact.

So Ive been doing some more research and found a few things some may find interesting. I found 2 videos between Bowjax and Limbsaver, each promoting the other. The Limbsaver video "looks" to be much more scientific, and is done with professional equipment in a sound deadened room. While the Bowjax one is done with a IPhone App.

I know Bee Stingers are popular, and apparently they have put a lot of testing and thought into theirs. I found they use a specific material as well, similar to Limsavers NAVCOM, called Sorbothane. Both are specifically designed materials for vibration and noise dampening. However, I cannot find anything on what material Bowjax is made of, except the mention of plain ol rubber in the Limbsaver video.

The actual material from one company to another probably has minimal differences. However the shape and construction wilk make a big difference. I will say that my Prime Centroid came with Bowjax on the limbs, and the first thing i did was rip them off and put limbsavers on them. Limbsavers always makes quality product IMO, i shoot a ton of arrows and the duraleeches and limb silencers have held up great and they work really well. Just one leech on the bottom of the string made a difference on both my bows. As far as stabilizers decreasing noise, im not sure what they do for that. They are there to reduce vibration and hand shock, but most of the noise we hear is the limbs and string bouncing around. Thats where the limb silencers and string leeches come in

Well I found this video. There no denying the bowjax out performed the limbsaver in this test. Not sure if the fact that the limbs are not under load or anything would make a difference though, so in a way the test is sort of moot.
