I have a PSE Stinger that I bought about 6 years ago. It's got a 70# draw weight on it but I'm almost certain that at the time it was too much for me to muscle so we loosened it up a bit. I eventually got a crossbow and never really hunted with the PSE until recently. I'm feeling pretty good with the bow now and want to try and increase the weight but I read that you can damage the bow if you tighten the limbs too much.

So, how do I know how much to tighten it to get it back to 70 lbs? I figured I'd just turn the allen screws until they stopped turning but it sounds like that's not the way to do it? Do I need to take the bow back to Gander Mtn and have them do it? Thanks!

No you can do it yourself. Tighten the allen screws on both limbs equally all the way until they stop then loosen them both one half turn and you should be at or close to the 70 pound max.
