I just started shooting a bow about a week ago. I'm lh and my groups stay pretty tight from 30 and under but they get much looser from 40 and beyond any advice on why this maybe.

Practice your form, depending on the speed of the arrow anything inside of 25-30 yards is reletively easy to group. When you start stepping out at further distances you start to see where your bad form causes bad groups. The more you practice good form the better your groups will get.

That's what I was thinking thank you. I'm shooting a bear showdown 2 and from what I'm learning about the bow its not a very fast shooting bow will that also affect longer distance shots.

I shoot out at 40 to 60 yards regularly. One thing I learned is not to hold too long on the spot you are shooting. But like what was said practice practice form.

perfect practice makes perfect. make sure u are consistent and the 1 most thing that helped my groups was remembering to follow through the shot, meaning hold the bow up until the arrow hits ur target.

That's what I was thinking, I end up overthinking my shots sometimes. between back tension, follow through, proper hand placement on your grip, easing of on your release instead of punching it that's alot to practice and perfect but your follow through can send can keep your groups at 3 inches or put them out to 10 in a quick hurry.

Another thing that really helped me when I first started shooting is finding a nice anchor point and getting it there everytime. I dont use a kisser but heard they really help.

Also, I tend to want to shoot a bunch of arrow in succession. I would say shoot a couple and then give your arm a break. Once your arm gets tired you wont be able to hold on target.

Also the farther away you get, every mistake gets emphasized dramatically. Like everyone else said, its easier to group it when the target is closer.
