    .

Hoyt used to have Reflex. It's my understanding that Hoyt discontinued the Reflex line for the 2009/2010 season. I think Reflex was created for bow stores to be able to sell a Hoyt bow, without the Hoyt name. Something along those lines. Maybe the hawk series is now what has evolved from the Reflex line.

I just bought a new bow this weekend so here is what I found....oh and this is kind of a cabela's rant as well. I am new to bow hunting last season was my first and I borrowed my brother-in-laws old bear bow. Shot fine I guess but what do I know. Went to cabelas because I had $200 worth of gift cards and I kind of had a set budget in mind of what I wanted to spend. I pretty much already had in mind I wanted a Martin so I asked to shoot the Martin Cheetah, Bear Game Over (discontinued this year so they had a really good price on it) and the Diamond Rock. After shooting all three the Bear felt so much better in my hands and seem to have a smoother draw and the release was like silk. So I happened to find the exact same bow in the bargain cave that was brand new never been shot. I got the bow for $239.00 and now time for accessories. I bought sites, rest, limbsavers, stabilizer and had them install the peep, nock, and rest as well as adjust poundage and draw length......Here's were the rant starts......Me not knowing a whole lot left with what I thought was a bow that was almost ready to begin sighting in.

Well once my b-in-law starting tuning and setting up we ran into a few problems.

    1. They didnt even tighten the rest just threw it on there and they didnt anchor the pull string into bow string....just the top was tied in so very easily moves around.

    2. Pulled the bow back when I got home and POW the d loop came untied.....thank god I didnt have an arrow loaded.

    3. The draw length on bow felt really long.....hmmmmm lets see what its set at.....when they adjusted the dl he didnt put the set screw back in so I was pulling all 31"

Needless to say I am calling manager today and having go back down there.....thinking of asking them to give me entire new bow due to the dry fire.....Not very happy with the service I received at all.....There's my .02

As far as bows just see what you like.

Matthews makes great bows. However, I feel there are alot of other quality bow manufactures these days that are cranking out some great bows as well. Just something to think about.

if you want a cheaper bow that is ok for a season or 2. I have a diamond razor edge 60# I bought it for my daughter on a whim. but she is only 3 so I am going to get her the new bear bow for kids. This razor has the boon docks package and actually shoots really nice @ 29" they claim a speed of 308 but I dont know much about all of that. If you want it you can have it for what I paid for it $250. new they are $330. again for all of those shooters that are gonna say its a "KIDS BOW" it is but its cheap and will get the job done and you can easily sell it to trade up later.

I just bought a new bow this past season and by far loved the diamond bows over all the others. Like everyone is saying look at the bows in your price range and shoot them. Whatever feels best is what you should buy. After I bought my diamond my friend and my bro also bought one and both love it. I should get a check from diamond for that haha
