lucky guy .... :0) ..... found some geodes down there along a small creek that flowed thru the place .... that whole area around Huntington/Peru/Wabash just screams big deer ... would love to find another lease/property down there, just without the trespassers and dogs ... I was hoping to see a bobcat or two down there, never happened..... are they around there ? was in Bass Pro the other day also looking a a .350 from Savage ... thats what my 22-250 is .. that .350 is a great caliber, lower recoil and good to around 200 yds ... great for the areas that allow straight walled cartridges ...
That's why I picked up a spot in Wabash to hunt this season. Normally hunt flat ag fields east of there but wanted to hunt some terrain.
I'm not sure about bobcats in that area but a gal I worked with, who lives in Blackford County near Hartford City, got them regularly on her trailcams Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
I hunt in Whitley County near Columbia City. That area around there is pretty desolate in places. I run cameras 365 and I've never had a Bobcat sighting there either Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
I actually saw them in three different stores last week. Sportsman Warehouse in Ft. Wayne had the Savage model for $379. They were also that price at Dunhams in Marion where I live. Those prices may have increased to around $449 after black Friday. I can't remember the brand of the one I looked at in bass and bucks but I'm thinking it was around $479. I just looked at the Sportsmans Warehouse ad in Ft. Wayne and they have the Savage Axis XP in 350 legend for $369.99 Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
yup, thats the one I was looking at, with a 3x9x40 cheapie Bushnell scope ... we have Bobcats up here now, in Lake/Porter/La Porte counties .. guys getting them on trail cams or accidently caught ... this one was caught by my buddy the taxidermist while trapping coyotes, just 7 miles from me .. The DNR came out and filmed the release .. also we have a few badgers here also .. the pic of I took of this badger is just outside of Kingsbury FWA ....
here's the Bob ... female ... I have a tree just 100 yds I hunted from where she was caught (State Gamebird Area).... he's allowed to trap on it for coyotes .. first year on it, he took over 20 yotes !! .. numbers have dropped since then.. they have drawing for deer there also ... smaller place however, I quit hunting it because of pressure ...
