Plenty of political and religious forums devoted to those subjects if you need something like that to be well rounded. There are also many articles, opinions and research that contain a myriad of viewpoints if you are interested in challenging your thinking instead of wanting to read only those items that fit your viewpoint. I have never seen anyone change their mind in any political arguments here, or anywhere else for that matter, but I have seen plenty of animosity and name calling. Every political thread here as degenerated into jerry springer name calling. I certainly haven't seen many well thought out ideals or solutions, especially lately, just "look how wrong this person/political party is". Any time anyone presents a well thought out ideal or solution they get labeled a "liberal" and the name calling begins. Even in this thread people want to ban those that may think differently. When you find a political thread that is decorous and thoughtful, please, let me know.

No, liberals get labeled as liberals because they are liberals. Well thought out ideals and solutions and liberals are seldom found in the same location. Its not impossible, it just unlikely. Even liberals don’t like liberals. They try to distance themselves and hope to call themselves “progressive”. Six of one and all that prattle. :)

One thing I do know... Bruce when you post about archery related topics... arrow flight dynamics, tuning etc... I take note and am always like a spellbound student. Thanks for sharing... the rest of the threads are just waiting for your words of wisdom... seriously and a few others too.

I've sort of admired how people on this forum can discuss politics and religion in a generally respectful and courteous manner. That isn't really true in the other forum where I hang out.

Not with RC posting ... those days are gone

I agree with his politics, but not the Constant digging ... gives us Conservatives a bullyish type look ...

Never surrender and give no quarter to the single biggest threat to a constitutional America.

    Liberalism

They need to be exposed and cast out as soon as they rear they ugly heads. At the same time, I think it fitting to keep a few of them around lest we forget what they repesent and the damage they can cause if allowed to spread.

Defending all that is right and good means just that.

I have a great Idea for ya JZ just get rid of the water cooler and all of the political and religous stuff is to be kept out of the threads.
I know it's a great place to put stuff in the off season.
But you have to admit it gets a bit out of hand (myself included).
Lets keep this site about our passion for the outdoors and hunting in general.
There is enough DEBATING about those subjects as it is.
You can start a new site just for RC
www.RC"s revalations and revolutions .com (joke)

So if there were a place for it... we could talk about it right? (R&P) Then it may be correct to simply redirect R&P posts to the R&P section when they arise.

Its kind of like having a bathroom in your house to do bathroom things.

Yup and then those that dont want to see it could just not go there. Seems like a perfect solution.

Why get rid of it? If you don't like discussing the kind of stuff that people talk about here, then you could just ignore this forum.

The water cooler is the only good sub forum left in this place.

My red free range chickens are prettier than your chickens, their eggs are larger and are better for me, than your atheist, liberal, detained not red chickens.

I have seen some of the very conservative members of this place called a liberal by you just because they disagreed with you. Name calling - It's what you do best. Whining about "liberals"(people that disagree with you) is what you do second best. Perhaps we can get a how to thread on whining and name calling?

Perhaps this should go in the bestiality forum.

    I agree.
But look at a majority of the posts on it over the past year.
I just hate talking about religiin and politics ans it always seems to spill into the other threads from the cooler

It didn't start a year ago. Yeah we've had some fun discussions the last few years, but it didn't get worse until a certain poster started spending more time here. The religion and political discussions used to be few and far between, and they actually carried some substance. Now they are just a launch pad to cure a certain member's boredom...I can only assume.
