I think the mods are a bit too quick to lock a thread or delete posts when members argue or debate.

There are some good ideas in here guys. One thing we have been looking at implementing is a 'User Reputation'. Basically you could like someones post or thread and the more likes it gets adds to your Rep. It can also be weighted so longer term members have more influence.

I think it would be another helpful way for people to wade through some of the BS spouted from time to time.

As far a growth and change go, here are my thoughts. We are constantly trying to make the forums a better place. I loved the 'Old Days' too, it was much more intimate and you didn't have to wade through 300 posts if you missed a day. But if the forum had stayed that size, it wouldn't be here today.

As our community grows there will no doubt be more non-sense, trolls and conflict. That is the nature of community. We (as moderators) will prune when necessary, but I sure like the fact that we haven't had to do this often. Many of the issues would go away if others didn't take the bait.

As for persuading the "Old Timers" to post more? Well, I think some would post more if we all continued to ask good questions.

We have a great base and have added a ton of wonderful members. I may not like all the changes, but I know that in the world of forums, if you're not growing, you're dying. And it's good to see The BH.com boys grow.

    Well said.

Tacomaworld has the rep system and it works fairly well except for angry/bitter members sending negative rep when it's unecessary or as a way of flexing internet muscle. There's is anonymous, I would like to see it public if such a system is implemented. I have no shame negative repping a few around here and letting them know I did it:D

I believe you can disable the ability to take away rep.

Fitz brought up some great points. We're looking pretty hard at some of the suggestions and recommendations that you guys posted in order to make this place the best it can be. So if you have true, productive feedback please keep it coming. We're always open to suggestion.

There is no button to wrap the tags though..right? Just the "insert image" button. I have to type the [IMG] tags out to use them.

    Or am I missing something?

I think rep points, like buttons, and whatnot just add clutter to boards

Would that improve one's ability to stalk? Like if I hit the stalker button, would that poster's address and phone number appear?

Or would it hamper one's ability to stalk?

I need to know this before I give my stamp of approval or disapproval.

Most of the things needed to improve the forums can only come from the posters themselves. Open minds and respectful debate. Sometimes that happens, many times not.

Other than annoying users, I thing things are run pretty good. I would like to see some older members post more often and GMMAT back. There are some here now far more annoying than him.

The technical & operational part of the forum is good. Too many things can clutter it.
